Use

The Good For You Milk Duo gift set by Cake is a really nice buffing and moisturizing set that would make a great gift for any occasion! For those of you that are into spa treatments, spa parties, moisturizing and taking care of your skin, this would be a great item to purchase. The set includes the Milk made hand creme (3.4 fl. oz.) and milk made smoothing hand and cuticle buffer (4.9 fl. oz.). Also, this set comes with a small plastic spoon to stir and scoop your buffer scrub. The container on the buffer DOES leak, so be careful and mindful of where and how you store it. Otherwise, this is a great set that would delight just about any one that likes to be pampered and take care of their skin!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Ingredients for this set are:

Hand creme: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Cetyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Dimethicone, Stearic acid, Althaea officinallis (Marshmallow) extract, Milk Lipid, Mangifera indica (Mango) seed butter, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter), Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA

Cuticle buffer: Sugar, Grape Seed (Vitis Vinifera) Oil, Coconut (Cocos nucifera) Oil, Avacado (Persea gratissima) oil, Sweet almond (Prunus Amygdalus dulcis) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Milk amino acids, Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl glycol (and) sorbic acid, parfum (Fragrance), red 17 (CI 26100), Violet 2 (CI60725)

The buffer is gritty with the sugar and has a very greasy oil. The oil is very thin and the sugar is quite abundant. The sugar will sink to the bottom, so you have to stir it up with the spoon that is included in the set. Our spoon came broken, but we are able to manage without it.

The hand cream, we found to be rather unnecessary after using the buffer. Because the buffer acts as a moisturizer. After you wash it off your hands, the oil stays behind, leaving you a light coat to rub into your hands after you pat them dry. This usually works just as well as using hand lotion. The hand cream (used by itself) was very silky, thick and moisturizing. It works very well with the buffer or without!

Taste / Aroma

The scent of this set is "Raspberry Kiss/Vanilla". It smells very nice. If you're a guy and want to use this, I warn you, the scent is pretty strong and does stick with you for a while. So, you have been forewarned, ha! The scent lasts quite a while after use. This is for both the buffer and the lotion. It has a very sweet raspberry smell with a light hint of vanilla to even out the sweetness. It's very soothing.

Performance

My wife tried this product first, on her hands. After she used it, I tried it on my feet. It worked wonders for her hands! They were soft and silky after use. My feet have a lot of dry, dead skin, and we have been trying to find some creams and lotions to cure this problem. So far, no luck. I took some of the sugar scrub, applied it to my feet and instantly noticed the scent. I didn't mind it, as my feet would be in socks shortly thereafter. I scrubbed my feet for roughly 5 minutes. I used only about a quarter size amount or just a bit larger of the product. You really don't need much. It felt as though I got more sugar than oil, but after rinsing my feet, I noticed that there was still quite a bit of oil left over to rub into my skin. So even if you feel like you get mostly sugar scrub, you DON'T need to add anymore of the oil. Trust me, you'll get the effect of the oil with a tiny bit of it. After rinsing, I took a dry towel and patted my feet dry. I was able to rub the remaining oil into my skin pretty easily.

While this product hasn't really "cured" my rough, dry, dead feet skin, it does feel very nice and leaves a nice scent behind. I would even go as far as saying that you could probably use this as an all over body scrub. Although, that may become expensive! I believe that it didn't help with my feet (with the dead skin) because I have a severe case of it. It was able to take off quite a bit of it though and leave my feet pretty silky and smooth for a few days, which was a nice change of pace.

We have also tried using this on our knees and elbows. Though we really didn't NEED it there, it was still a nice little spa treatment for both of us.

Packaging

This set comes in a box with the hand creme, cuticle buffer and a spoon to stir the sugar and oil to mix them together. The box is nice enough, and would make a great gift for anyone. I would even say that this would be an appropriate gift for someone like my stepdaughter who is 8 and LOVES bath and body products.

Sadly, the buffer does leak quite a bit. Make sure to keep this bottle standing up and not laying down. Because it does contain oil, if you leave this somewhere on wood or anything paper, it will stain or ruin what is under it, so be careful. The lotion bottle is a nice tube with a flip cap. This container is to be set cap side down or "upside down", which makes it nice for when it runs low because your lotion will be at the cap already waiting!

The set includes: Milk Made Hand Creme (3.4 fl. oz.) and Milk Made Smoothing Hand and Cuticle Buffer (4.9 fl. oz.) and a small white plastic spoon. If yours comes broken like mine did, you can simply use another plastic spoon or something to stir and retrieve the product from the bottle.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Leaky container
Follow-up commentary
Because of the type of work that I do, I have been getting quite a few pretty bad callouses on my hands from work. My wife loves that I use this on a regularly basis because I give her back massages regularly. The callouses don't drag as much, if at all anymore! This stuff is really great, even for the guys. The scent is pretty girly though, so I usually do this task in the shower so that I can wash my hands or handle other "menly scented" body wash, or I use some regularly scented lotions after use.
