A treat for the Mrs. and me!!

This beautifully packaged soap gives you a luxury spa experience that can be a special couple's spa retreat or a relaxing experience to unwind after a chaotic day. Either way, it is special, enjoyable and affordable. It is a spa in a box that can be appreciated many, many times. If the color and scent were more suitable for men I would not hesitate to give this product 5/5 stars.

Use

The "Bellissima two bar soap set" by Principessa Beauty is a set of 2 luxury solid bars of soap. Each bar is both pleasantly and heavily scented with their Isolina scent. The soft fragrance combines violet, mimosa, rose, neroli, heliotrope and precious woods (I found this on the packaging!) to create a soft, flowery and baby fresh scent which both of us find delightful. Each light pink bar of soap is engraved with the word "Principessa", which is the company that produces the Bellissima line of products.

The scented bars lather up very easily either in your hands, with a simple wash cloth or on one of those net poufy things that the Mrs. keeps around our bath. Both of us always like soaps that lather up as opposed to cleansers that do not have very much lather (like most liquid bath gels). The smell, feel and lasting scent all contribute to a sensuous bathing experience. I admit that I do not use this soap alone but the Mrs. and I have been known to share a bath or 2 over the years (in the interest of the earth we have chosen to decrease our footprint, as they say...) and this soap is now our favorite to use together. It leaves such an intoxicating scent behind, I find it hard to resist the Mrs. when we move from the tub to the bed.

Taste / Aroma

As you can probably guess, neither of us tasted the soap. The large bars fit nicely in smaller or larger hands and it has a nice feel to it. The smell is not heavy or cloyingly sweet but rather soft, flowery and fresh. However, it is on the feminine side and I doubt that many men would choose this soap to use alone. As a man, I did enjoy bathing with the Mrs and washing her back. The scent really heightened the spa-like experience and as I was soaping up her back I must admit I wanted to cuddle up very close to the Mrs. Hmmm....just thinking about this scent makes me long to start running the bath water again (and again..and again...).

Performance

These bars of soap do much more than just clean your body. They moisturize the skin--there are several ingredients (vitamin E, aloe vera, shea butter and others) that are said to moisturize and heal the skin. After bathing with the Bessissima soap our skin felt and smelled wonderful. I know it sounds corny, but it also seemed to energize us and got us in a frisky sort of mood. Maybe it was just the closeness of a leisurely bath, but whatever it was, it felt very nice. I'll say it was the soap--that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Oh--we were clean, also, which afterall, is the point of using soap in the first place, isn't it?

Packaging

The packaging gets all 5 stars. The box is heavy duty cardboard with a detachable top. It is decorated with pink/white stripes and clearly describes the contents (two 5 ounce bars of soap). The ingredients are listed (which you can check under the EF product description so I will not duplicate the information). Each bar of soap is wrapped separately in clear plastic, which to me shows extra attention to luxury details by the company. It would make a great gift or something special to bring home as a treat for you and your partner. The Mrs. removed the soap and placed in our master bath linen closet but she did use the box (along other female items) as a pretty display on the tub surround. She likes to decorate and change it up now and then so I am guessing soon the soap will be back in the box and the box will be in the closet (she likes to keep me guessing I think).

Personal comments

Most people, including the Mrs. and me, would say that $21.99 is too much to spend for just 2 bars of soap. After using this product several times, I would say that is not true. None of us would hesitate to spend $22 to enhance our sexual experience and that is now how I view this soap. The bathing experience along with the scent will have you linger in the bath and then quickly move on to the bed to complete what most certainly will come to mind. You will get many uses from each bar of soap.

Experience

We both absolutely loved this package of luxury soaps. First, we wanted to share a bath--something we hadn't done in quite a while. For that alone, it was worth $22. Second, we were surprised how nice it smelled--the scent is truley amazing--how great it felt both during use and how our skin felt after the bath. The fragrence lingers on the skin and I kept just wanting to touch and sniff the Mrs. She really enjoyed that part--I think it was both our favorite thing about the soaps. Whiff...whiff...hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

We still love this. The bar of soap (2 in the set) last quite awhile. They smell really nice--a very light, long lasting scent. It leaves the Mrs. skin smooth and soft (an clean, which I guess is what soap is for...) and smelling very nice. It keeps me coming back for more.

I should send you & the Mrs. my unused bar. Its too "Victorian/flowery" for my honey and I.....we love citrus scents.

It is a high quality product though and I bet folks would pay $22 on liquid soaps to get them to last as long as these two bars will - they're really good size bars!

@Katelyn--you are right--these soaps would not be worth the price to take a shower!!! Nice scent, but a much less expensive alternative can be found at Wlgrn's--try Yrdly--nice scent, not much lather and a low price (under $2 if I recall). For us, in the tub, the lather is really fun so the Bellissimo is worth the price--not so much true for a shared shower!
