Use

The Dona by JO Acai Sensual Massage Oil is designed as a sensual massage oil for couples. It is best suited for couples and is not really something you could use by yourself as a sensual massage on your back. You can use this massage oil as a start for a romantic evening with your partner or to relax and soothe your partner's aching muscles after a long stressful day. If you do not have a partner you can always massage your chest, legs, and thighs while enjoying the relaxing feel of the massage oil caressing up and down your body.

You could potentially use this as a skin moisturizer if you didn't mind the shiny look it leaves on your skin after use.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The bottle is very easy to pour: just press the cap open and lightly squeeze the desired amount into your hand or on the body of the person you are massaging. The nice thing about this is you can turn the bottle upside down and the liquid will not come out unless you lightly squeeze the bottle. I like this aspect because it prevents spills and leakage. Once you squeeze the bottle, the oil comes out quite nicely depending on how hard you squeeze. I was able to get it to come out in droplets by lightly squeezing. You do not have to squeeze very hard to get the product to come out and it doesn't come out too quickly or pour more than what is needed.

It does not really have any texture to it at all. It is somewhat thicker than water, but not by much. It tends to run fairly easily and absorbs right into the skin. The oil feels wonderful when applied to the skin.

It left an oily, shiny residue on my hands, but left my skin feeling soft and not sticky or tacky feeling.

Taste / Aroma

It does not have any taste to it, but it has a delightful and pleasant fruity smell similar to fruit punch. The smell is strong, and it lingers on your skin and in the air for a while after use. If you do not like fruity scents then this product would not be for you. If you are sensitive to smells and are prone to headaches because of them, I would use your own judgement on whether or not to purchase this because it does have a fairly strong fruity scent to it.

Performance

The massage oil comes in a 4.7 oz bottle and should last for many uses depending on how much oil you apply to your or your partner's body. It is a wonderful massage oil that is very easy to spread and massage onto the body, but it tends to absorb into the skin pretty quickly after application and you begin rubbing it into the skin. It does not absorb before you or your partner enjoy the sensual massage, but it is pretty quick absorbing once you start the massage. It also does not irritate the skin.

If you do not want your body to smell like fruit after the massage, you can wash it off in the shower with your favorite soap or body wash. You can also leave it on your skin as it does not leave any sticky residue and leaves skin feeling silky smooth and soft.

If you happen to spill any of the oil on your bed, it does leave an oily spot, but it does not transfer from your body to the covers.

Packaging

There was no external packaging to this product. It was wrapped in plastic that was tied on the end. It had a purple sticker strip over the top of the lid to prevent spills.

The bottle is a clear, plastic, recyclable bottle with an orange label wrapped around it. It has a small strip of black on the back where it displays the ingredients list and company information. The black lid is your basic twist off lid, with a press to open and close top that had a seal on the inside to prevent leakage before use.

Special Features

According to the label, it is paraben free, cruelty free, natural, and free of petroleum derivatives. As with any product, check the ingredients for potential allergies or sensitivities.

It claims to be an aphrodisiac infused massage oil, but I could not find anything in the ingredients that is considered an aphrodisiac.

Follow-up commentary
I just now finished using the bottle of massage oil and, I must say, I still like it as much as I did when I first reviewed it. A friend of mine suggested using it as a moisturizer for dry skin, which is what I have been mainly using this massage oil for. I apply a small amount after bathing to areas that are prone to drying out. It works wonderfully for this purpose! I love how it leaves my skin feeling soft afterward.
