Afterglow Massage Candle Left Me Glowing
JimmyJane's Afterglow in Pink Lotus smells amazing: it's delicate and fresh. It might smell a little bit too feminine for a man, but I didn't get any complaints. The wax melts into a smooth, thick massage oil. It allowed me to provide a long massage without getting sticky or drying out. It was perfectly slippery and left a nice, light scent on my skin. I will definitely be purchasing more (many more) of these massage candles.Published: June 13, 2011
Pros:
Smells great, softens skin, a little bit goes a long way.
Cons:
Pricey.
The Afterglow massage candle is one amazing, multipurpose candle! Once the candle has burned evenly and is blown out, the warm oil creates the most amazing massage. The oil is not excessively hot and should be tolerable to anyone who is interested in a warming massage. It provides you with a wet, slippery massage but won't leave your skin feeling greasy or sticky. It will, however, leave your skin smelling amazing! The oil also has an amazing skin softening quality. I found myself rubbing the excess on my arms and legs as a moisturizer. This candle is all natural and did not bother my usually sensitive skin.
I would not recommend licking any parts of the body that came in contact with the oil, as it is not edible and it will not be tasting too great. If you don't mind your skin having a light scent to it, the oil absorbs nicely. If you are not a huge fan of the scent, you will have to take a shower after use.
To use the Afterglow candle, you simply blow out the candle and pour a small amount onto the desired area. You may also use the brush for application. A quarter sized amount is all you need for a warm, wet massage. Try to remember a little bit goes a long way! As if a nice massage isn't enough, when lit, the candle also creates a delicate scent in a room that is unmatched by most regular candles, making this one just as great for setting the mood. And the porcelain holder is nice enough to allow you to leave the candle out without anyone knowing what it is. Once you're done with the candle, make sure you center the wick so the candle stays clean for your next use.

I still love my Afterglow candle. I have burned it as a regular candle to add some fresh scent to my room and as a massage candle. Just make sure to trim the wick, and this baby will burn through a lot of use!

Jimmy Jane Afterglow candles- Best Scent?
-
what's the best Jimmy Jane afterglow scent? or the better ones?
-
Well, first off, there are lots of threads on the scent of these candles already. But ignoring that, I think it's really up to your preference in smell.
In my experience, all the scents are fairly high quality, so it just depends on what you like. I personally favor the Dark Vanilla and Bourbon scents. My good friend prefers the Water Cucumber, while it is totally not for me. Some people love the Truffle Gardenia, but it's comparatively very floral. I would really like to try the Vetiver Honey in the ember series.
My recommendation would be to go with what is most similar to your usual favorite scent. Sweet edibles? Masculine spices? Flowers? Citrus? Or you could always try the sampler. More expensive but awesome :-) -

The special edition scents look tempting, but I would also like to make sure I purchase something both my partner and I would like. Also I kind of wanted to get a general sense of what is most widely liked. Which I feel I could have gotten with a poll, but unfortunately I am not sure how to do that. I did see a post explaining that to post a poll it the option is next to the post discussion option, but I have seen no such poll option.

Can you describe the scents of the Afterglow massage candles from Jimmyjane?
-
If your own words and from your own personal experience can you please describe what the different scents are like? I'm having trouble deciding on which ones to get. Thanks! =]

I did a review on the Afterglow Sampler set, but this is what I have with the scents.
Cucumber Water smells like a crisp, clear, watered down version of a cucumber melon scent, and is quite possibly my favorite. Pink Lotus has a decidedly floral scent to it; not overpowering but definitely there. It's hard to pinpoint anything more specific than "floral" for me on that one. Truffle + Gardenia (the special edition one, also available as a regular Ember candle) is also hard for me to pinpoint. It smells like an earthy floral to me, a more involved scent. Bourbon smells sweet to me, almost like molasses or something else I'd bake with. Dark Vanilla still smells like a generic "vanilla cookie" scent to me. And Grapefruit. To me, there's a hint of citrus and a whole lot more of something I can't put my finger on. When I first smelled it I thought back to the Habanero + Grapefruit mini Ember I have, only this is a little less spicy to the nose. JJ claims notes of grapefruit, bell peppers, and mandarin for this one. -
Thanks! I think the ones I want to try most are Dark Vanilla, Cucumber Water, and the Truffle Gardenia... and the Bourbon. Jeez I want to smell them all. Choosing which to buy online is difficult but I'm sure whichever one I choose I'll love it anyway. =]

Afterglow Packaging

I was just curious - Jimmyjane has changed the style of the Afterglow candle to the "pour spout" that's rocked by the Ember. Is EF still selling the old style with the brush as indicated by the picture?
FYI I'm in favor of the pour divot format! -
This is something I'd like to know, too. *Bump*
-
The new version features a spout for easy pouring and that is what currently available on EF.
