An Herbal Chill Pill

Love Tincture is an awesomely flavored and scented chocolate syrup infused with damiana leaf extract as an aphrodisiac. It's easy to measure out the recommended amount of one to three droppers, though I do not care for the glass dropper, which may be easy to break. I also did not notice the aphrodisiac having any effect on my body, other than to relax me.

extremely useful review
I’d have to say I am a huge fan of Sensuous Beauty’s products, the Love Tincture being no exception. After reading the description of it on EdenFantasys, I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking at, though it looked pretty interesting. I’m glad I decided to just go for it and get the tincture.

This is basically aphrodisiac-infused organic chocolate syrup. It can be drizzled over a partner, ice cream, or mixed into cup of chai, pretty much whatever you desire to do with it. I tried mixing it into some coffee, which turned out pretty yummy. It could even be used for temperature play, by sticking some into the fridge or microwave. Make sure you test the temperature after microwaving before using it, so as to not burn anyone.

Love Tincture comes packaged in a small 2 oz. glass bottle with a dropper. Mine arrived wrapped in a plastic bag without any other packaging. The bottle is easy to hold and open. The dropper inside of the bottle is glass, which I really don’t like. I have already received one Sensuous Beauty product with the same bottle and dropper style that had a broken dropper. A plastic dropper would be much safer. Either way, though, the dropper is easy to use and allows me to easily measure out the recommended 1 to 3 droppers of chocolate per use. While, yes, $20 is a lot to shell out for this, you can easily get a good handful of uses out of the bottle; more if you limit yourself to one dropper of chocolate per use. The label on the bottle is simple yet pretty, with a small picture of a flower and a few designs in gold and red. Ingredients, the company’s contact information, and basic instructions for use are all included on the label. Sensuous Beauty also lists that Love Tincture is not tested on animals. I feel the bottle is pretty discreet, though due to it being glass, probably not very travel friendly. Unless it is packed very well, it may break and get chocolate everywhere.

Other than sugar, water, cocoa, and vanilla extract, which all create the chocolate syrup, the label also lists brandy (approximately 21% to 23% by volume) and wildcrafted damiana infusion. The damiana is the aphrodisiac and is used to enhance libido and create sensations of euphoria and well-being. Because the ingredients include alcohol, this is not recommended for use by pregnant or nursing women. Other than that, users may want to keep the Love Tincture away from the vaginal opening, as the sugar can irritate the skin and cause an infection.

The flavor is definitely not that of typical chocolate syrup. It has the flavor of chocolate with a sort of woody flavor to it. It also gives my tongue a slight tingly feeling, like what I would get after drinking a martini. The scent is also pretty unique, with an earthy or woody scent in addition to the chocolate scent. I find myself opening this just to smell it a lot. While awesome smelling, this isn’t overpowering. I can barely smell it unless I put my nose right up to wherever the Love Tincture is.

After using some of this in food and beverages and even trying a straight shot of it right out of the dropper, I haven’t really noticed any difference in my mood, other than being a little more calm and relaxed. While I really like the scent, I don’t think it really turns me on. It honestly makes me want some super dark chocolate. I haven’t tried this drizzled on my or my partner’s skin yet, though as a test on my hand, this cleaned up well with just licking. I have a thing against feeling stickiness on my skin, so I’m glad that if I do decide to put this right on my skin, I won’t have to run to the bathroom right after we are done to wash this off.

As far as clean up goes, simple hand soap and warm water work fine. If any manages to get on fabrics, spot treating and washing according to the fabric’s instructions should remove any stains. When storing this, I recommend keeping the bottle upright, so that chocolate won’t drip all over the place as soon as the bottle is opened. I have had no problems with the bottle leaking when turned upside down.

Overall, this product is fun, yet at the same time it doesn’t fully deliver. I love the flavor, scent, and design of it; though I don’t think I am experiencing the aphrodisiac side of this at all. While, yes, this calms me down and allows me to relax, it’s not working to turn me on at all. Maybe they should rename it Calming Tincture?
Follow-up commentary
A few days ago, I put three droppers of this in my hot chocolate when I was feeling a little stressed out and in need of some relaxation time. While it definitely enhanced the flavor of my hot chocolate a lot, I noticed no effects from it. It didn't make me feel any different than I would have if I had just relaxed with a regular cup of hot chocolate.

Interesting. These "herbal" sex enhancers are really hit or miss.

I did want to add something; breastfeeding women may drink alcohol in moderate amounts. Not to drunkenness, but a mug or two of beer, a glass or two of wine or one or two mixed drinks (if the mother is used to alcohol) has actually been approved by the American Academy of Pediatricians for use in nursing mothers. So, a couple of droppers full of brandy would have no effect at all on the baby or the mom.

Just wanted to put that in since I'm guessing the instructions included "nursing mothers" along with pregnant women in not being "allowed" to take alcohol. Alcohol is not recommended for pregnant women, but breastfeeding is totally different in how the substance gets to the baby.

Too bad you weren't able to get all of the effects of the product but after reading this review it certainly caught my attention! My partner is a huge chocolate fan and I love experimenting with flavors, wish-listing this! Quite interested to see if the aphrodisiac works for me!

I'm glad you liked it. I didn't like mine so much, but I did get a different flavor than you. Maybe that makes a big difference.

I agree with others. Not sure if these herbal enhancers work. It seems I keep finding mixed information...
