(Annabelle/Peony) A girly, soft, romantic look!

I love the variety of pretty shimmery/glittery eyeshadows in these tiny palettes. The dark shimmery colors would be perfect for the holidays. These palettes are more for beginners, to give as gifts, or to experiment with. Some of the colors are pigmented but the light colors looked very similar. I like these palettes but I'm not a fan of the ingredients and the eyeshadows were very chalky.

Use

The "Bella In Bloom" palettes from "Bella Il Fiore" each contain 8 eyeshadow colors (7 shimmers, one matte) and one applicator to create a variety of different eyeshadow looks. If you're new to makeup or looking for gifts these palettes are great! If you're used to higher end makeup then you'll probably find this palettes too chalky and not very exciting. I have a huge makeup stash and I like to try all kinds of things that range from cheap to expensive. I got the Peony palette and the Annabelle palette so that I could use them together for pink/purple looks!

These eyeshadows are similar to drugstore brand eyeshadows. Some of them are pigmented and some are not. I find this palette best for experimenting with or just for practice. I made a lot of romantic/soft looks and smokey looks with these palettes. The palettes have nothing sexual on the label at all so you could give these to just about anybody that's into makeup. The small size of the palettes is ideal for travel, gift giving, and for stocking stuffers when the holidays are near. I had a lot of fun using these palettes for the sake of this review but honestly was not very impressed by the quality or the ingredients. I'd much rather use my more expensive makeup.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

When you swatch the eyeshadows on your fingertips they feel soft and sort of chalky. Each palette has one matte shade and the rest are all shimmery with microglitter. I'm surprised that the shimmer/glitter didn't really show up as much as I thought it would. It seems like as soon as you break the surface of the eyeshadow pot the shimmer/glitter starts to disappear and gets faint. The white/highlight shades barely show up at all but they do give you a subtle highlight which could be a good thing depending on the look you're going for. The other colors are a mixed bag. Most of the dark colors are pretty pigmented and show up pretty well (about a 7/10 pigmentation) while the other colors like the shimmery white and light pink hardly show up even after you layer it a few times. The highlight colors work best to blend things out but you might need to use something else that's more pigmented underneath the browbone. Overall, the eyeshadows are chalky but they're ok. You can definitely create some cute looks with these eyeshadows if you take your time and blend blend blend!

I highly recommend using an eyeshadow primer first for best results. Eyeshadow primer makes your eyelids matte so that the eyeshadow stays on longer and lasts without creasing. I have really oily eyelids so an eyeshadow primer is a must have! If you want to know what I use just send me a message and ask me.

Taste / Aroma

The eyeshadows have a light, powdery, cosmetic type smell to them. The scent reminds me of my loose face powder. You can only smell it if you put your nose down in the palette and sniff. You can't smell it when you're wearing the eyeshadows themselves.

Performance

I used an eyeshadow primer before applying the eyeshadow. They actually lasted for several hours on me. If I didn't use the eyeshadow primer at all it would probably only last about an hour or less because I have oily eyelids. Eyeshadow primer is highly recommended! To take it off I recommend using makeup wipes.

Annabelle Palette
*Periwinkle - Shimmery light purple with rainbow microglitter.
*Lavender - A white shimmery shade with a very light tint of purple, rainbow microglitter. Shows up nearly white so it's best use is for blending out the crease or to highlight.
*Hyacinth - Shimmery burgundy with red microglitter.
*Lilac - A very pretty matte grape purple.
*Lily - Another shimmery white highlight.
*Daffodil - Shimmery light cotton candy pink with rainbow microglitter.
*Autumn - Gorgeous fall color with rainbow microglitter. It's not coppery like a penny, it's more of a light brown that's really shimmery.
*Bliss - Sultry grey with rainbow microglitter.

With the Annabelle palette there's a few things I didn't like. I don't like the oddball matte shade. I don't like mixing mattes with shimmers. I would have liked another shimmery shade instead so they all go together. Lavender, Lily, and Daffodil are all really light and almost look the same when worn. I just used them to blend out my look and to highlight.

Peony Palette
*Sweet Pea - Shimmery light pink highlight shade with rainbow microglitter.
*Bloom - Shimmery bubble gum pink shade with rainbow microglitter.
*Nectar - Very pretty copper (like an old penny, great fall color!) with rainbow microglitter.
*Shine - Shimmery white highlight (very pretty, reminds me of fallen snow) with rainbow microglitter.
*Tulip - Another shimmery highlight slightly darker than Sweet Pea, rainbow microglitter.
*Trellis - A really pretty matte shade. I'd describe it as a smokey taupe/brown shade.
*Ginger - A dark shimmery gold with rainbow microglitter. This color just screams Fall/Christmas time to me.
*Petunia - One shade lighter than Bloom. A light pink with pink microglitter.

Again, this palette had three highlight colors that were very similar. The matte shade is really pretty but I wouldn't want to use it with shimmery colors. I can't really pick a favorite palette because I like to use colors from both! The applicators are useless to me because I prefer to use brushes. I noticed that the deeper you go into each pot of eyeshadow the glitter/shimmer start to disappear and isn't very evenly distributed. I did create some pretty looks by combining both palettes but honestly these weren't anything spectacular to brag about. The stock photos make the shades appear at least one full shade darker than the colors really are which was disappointing to me.

Packaging

Straight out of the box, both palettes were individually wrapped in plastic.

The palettes are made of sturdy cardboard covered in shiny high quality paper, similar to a hardcover book. It's very sturdy. The inside has a sheet of foam with cutouts for the eyeshadow pans/applicator and is covered with shiny high quality black paper. It's hard to explain but the palettes are very sturdy and have a high quality look to them. When closed they look like cute little books. There's a magnet inside (hidden) so that when you close the lid it stays shut.

The palettes were both really tiny! They measure 4" across and about 3 1/4" tall. The eyeshadow pans are about 3/4" wide. There's nothing on the packaging that tells you they were purchased from an adult website so you could give these as gifts to anyone. Due to the small size of the palettes and the magnetic closure these would be nice to travel with.

Personal comments

The eyeshadows work best if you use an eyeshadow primer first. If you've never used an eyeshadow primer before or want to know where to get it cheap just send me a message and I'll tell you what I use.

My mom is allergic to most eyeshadows that are purchased from the drugstore. The only eyeshadows that she can use are mineral eyeshadows with minimal ingredients. These palettes are probably not a very good thing for her to use! If you're allergic like my mom you'll probably want to avoid these palettes! They contain carmine, parabens, and other ingredients that some may find irritating so just be careful. I'm not allergic to anything so I didn't have any problems. If you use these eyeshadows and your eyelids get tingly, itchy, or red then you're more than likely allergic and need to stop using it.
Follow-up commentary
I still like both of the palettes I ordered. But to tell you the truth they don't get used very often. I have a lot of makeup and I tend to use my more pigmented eyeshadows over this. It gets ignored a lot unfortunately. I still like these palettes and think they make great gifts though! If you're new to makeup, want to experiment with new colors, or just need some quick little gifts I'd highly recommend these palettes. If you're already an expert in makeup and know what brands you like and dislike, then this palette probably won't impress you. The eyeshadow isn't as pigmented as I would like and they're a little chalky. They're cute to have though!
