Beauty Essential

Notte Breeze is the best choice for when you are on the go and need to freshen up, or if you're camping and have little access to water. It's a great dry shampoo that helps extend time between washes.

Use

I feel that dry shampoo is something every woman should keep with her, because you just never know how your day is going to go. Dry shampoo is great for times in between showering, or when you're at the gym. A sweaty day at the office that needs to be freshened up, or camping are also great reasons to have some. Basically any situation where you won't have easy access to water or will be in a hurry is a great time to have some dry shampoo. It is also useful because washing hair with shampoos and soaps too often can be damaging. Dry shampoo allows you to go longer between washes so you can let your hair recover some. This particular brand is by Principessa Beauty. Notte breeze is for darker hues, typically browns. I personally have black hair and still use it. It does leave a residue. After I've used it, it looks as though I have brown highlights in my black hair. I personally don't mind this because I think it looks great on me and I do seem to rock it quite well. But it is something to note in case you don't want that. In browns it would probably blend in better so you won't necessarily see the residue left behind. It looks more like highlights than anything else, it's not a powder residue and does not look like dandruff.

Now that I've discussed the main reasons you would need to keep this in your backpack (pretty much always.. trust me you will find uses) I feel that it's important to know how to use dry shampoo properly. Because it doesn't give you easy instructions that tell you the best use.

Typically I find the best way to use this product is similar to other dry shampoos I've used in the past. I flip all my hair upside down and use about a tablespoon worth of the powder and start at the base of my hairline and begin to work it in as if I'm shampooing my hair. I add extra as necessary when I go around towards the front roots. Typically the oil will be mostly at your roots, so I don't recommend covering the ends all that much. Once you've worked it in, brush your hair to distribute it well and then let it sit for about 8-10 minutes. After this period-most of the sebum (hair oil) will be absorbed. You may then flip your hair upside down and brush it all out. I recommend doing so where the powder won't fall on any cushions because it's possible that it will leave residue.

Dry shampoo basically absorbs sebum. Sebum is what makes your hair dirty by attracting dirt and grime. While dry shampoo will probably not get all the grime out that a shower will be able to-it will get most of it and be able to keep you freshened in between showers.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This has a very silky texture, and is a very finely ground powder. It will stick to where you put it for the most part, with only a small puff of powder smoke if you disturb it by majorly making movement. I find that it leaves a soft feel to hair and it removes any greasy residue that may have built up in your hair. Notte Breeze has a typical baby powder top, with 6 holes. This makes it super easy to pour and easy to keep the top clean as it has a twist seal.

Also, in case you have any particular allergies, here is the ingredients list:
Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbedensis Leaf Juice, Organic Chamomille Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Organic Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, Tocobiol, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

Taste / Aroma

It has a wonderful and pleasant scent. I think it's more of a floral smell, but it's very girly. I like it, it's not super strong or abrasively scented. I can smell it if I lean into my hair to smell it, but it doesn't conflict with perfume or body spray if I choose to wear any.

Performance

Notte Breeze seems to last for about 6-8 hours after I use it. I have extremely greasy hair and I sweat easy, so after 6-8 hours I will need to reapply if I'm still intending to be out and about. I think for most other people it may last longer if you don't suffer from grease buildup the way that I do. I don't feel that you need to rinse this out after use or do any major clean ups with it. That's the nice part- when you get ready to take a shower you can just wash your hair as normal and the dry shampoo will come right out with it. I'm a big fan of this stuff and I carry some in my purse or backpack everywhere with me because I never know when I may need to freshen up. In my case, it's inevitable that the day I don't wash my hair and style it, or wear makeup... a photo opportunity comes up and they want to post that photo on facebook. I'm just very unlucky. So if I find out I'm going somewhere with friends after work and the only thing I have time for is the dry shampoo, it helps loads. I may not be able to put on makeup or have time for anything else but I can at least keep my hair from looking greasy!
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural

Packaging

Notte Breeze is in a fairly aesthetically pleasing bottle. It's light pink and looks quite feminine. As mentioned before it has a twist seal top with 6 holes that make application easy. It isn't messy at all and I feel the twist seal keeps it from being that way. I have never had a spill or otherwise with this container. The twist seal makes it where even when the container is on its side or upside down I don't have any issues.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

Obviously the main feature of this is that it's a dry shampoo that you can use without water. But I feel that it's pretty unique among dry shampoo because other ones I've used didn't have such a soft and silky texture and I could tell that I had it in my hair. This stuff felt very natural and didn't leave such a nasty residue in my hair like most did. I think that's a fairly special feature.

Personal comments

At 4.4 oz in this bottle, it may not seem like a lot but if you used it fairly often and don't overdo it, I feel that it lasts. I've had mine for a few months now and use it fairly often between washes. I still have quite a bit left, but I don't use it every day or anything like that. I probably use this once or twice a week as needed. I try not to wash my hair a ton because that will make it even more greasy, so this stuff if fantastic for that. Even though it's a little pricey I feel that it's worth it and I would buy it again and do plan on doing so when I run out.
