Good Clean Fun
No more naked runs to the bathroom and waiting for the water to warm up so you can wash off your toy. With this you can just spray it on and wipe it off and you're all set to reuse the toy.Published: March 30, 2008
Pros:
Great in the heat of the moment, quick and convenient, inexpensive.
Cons:
The smell is a little funky.
Toy cleaner is something that I only discovered existed within the past year. I've found it to be a quicker, albeit more expensive, alternative to plain old soap and water. It's particularly convenient in the heat of the moment if you'd like to use a toy that's just been used on you on someone else or vice versa. No more naked runs to the bathroom and waiting for the water to warm up so you can wash off your toy. With this you can just spray it on and wipe it off and you're all set to reuse the toy.
The Before and After toy cleaner is an inexpensive cleaning solution that's safe to use on your sex toys and comes in a convenient non-aerosol spray bottle. One of the things that I really like about this cleaner is that it is pretty inexpensive. It's about eight ounces for ten dollars or so, which is a very generous amount of the cleaning solution. Two or three squirts will easily clean a medium-sized toy, so the spray should last quite awhile. I've had mine since December and still have over three fourths of the bottle left.
I'm still not sure how I feel about the fragrance though. I don't know exactly what it is, but it smells somewhat like a mixture of artificial grape scent and something floral. It's a pretty feminine smell, it kind of makes me feel like I'm walking into Bath and Body Works. The smell is not particularly unpleasant though, and it fades quickly as the spray dries. One benefit, though, to the fact that there is fragrance added to the Before and After toy cleaner is that can help mask the odor of new toys that have that awful rubbery smell, because even if you're not wild about artificial grape, it still smells better than some new toys, and it provides a safe way of getting rid of that smell.
All in all I rate the Before and After toy cleaner at four stars.

While soap and water are still my go-to, I still think this product is really convenient and the bottle lasts a ridiculously long time.

What does before & after do.. before you use it?
-
Is it both a lubricant and a sanitizer? how does that work?
-
It is not a lubricant but merely cleans the toys. When the toy is sitting around, it gathers fungal spores, dust, and bacteria.
-
Before you use it it sits there and looks pretty :P
In theory you're supposed to use it before you use your toys and then after you use your toys to ensure optimal cleanness. At least according to the bottle.

Before & After Toy Cleaner...
-
This one got lots of great reviews, but I've got a couple of questions for all you reviewers who use this. The description says you have to "spray, wipe, then rinse" but most of the reviews say no rinsing required. Can you guys confirm there's no residue if you don't rinse? One review mentioned it didn't clean the crevices of textured toys well. Anyone else have that experience? Would you say it replaces the soap & water routine completely?
-
Nah, it doesn't replace soap and water, in my opinion. It may be because I've used soap and water for so long, but I just don't see the benefit to spraying something and then wiping it off. I find the cleaner hard to wipe off on toys w/ texture, and maybe I'm nuts, but then I don't feel like a toy is really clean. It would do in a pinch, but I don't mind soap and water so that's what I go for 90% of the time.

I like the the idea of toy cleaner but I always wondered what exactly you wipe down with? What's a good cloth for that?

Thank you for viewing Before and after toy cleaner – toy cleanser review page!

Can you use it on silicone?
Yes. In fact, I frequently use it on my silicone toys.
I think I'll have to give this one a try. Most of the toy cleaners I've used in the past have to be rinsed, which kind of defeats the purpose of using them instead of much more economical anti-bacterial soap.
This is the only toy cleaner I'll use, it's fabulous.
I agree, it's great! :)
Does this cleaner have to be rinsed off according to the directions on the bottle? I'm super sensitive to alot of the toy cleaners and it would be great if this one didn't cause that!!
The label suggests it, as you've mentioned, but I've had no problems with just wiping it clean.
Thanks for the review!
