Body....Water?

This shimmer spray is a total joke! While it does look pretty in the bottle, don't let the look of this product fool you. There's not point in using it. There's no scent, minimal glitter, isn't made from all natural ingredients, and doesn't last very long. All in all, this is the worst body product I've ever tried!

Use

Dona Shimmer Body Spray is a glittery spray designed to add a hint of shine to your sexiest features! This thin spray is full of a fine, faux glitter to add a little sparkle to your skin, without having to worry about whether or not you can wear with your favorite body care products.

This glittery spray goes great with any scent you normally would wear because it's totally unscented. Add this as a final step for a big night out. Going out with the girls? Add a little to your arms, chest, legs, etc. to catch a few extra glances. This spray is supposed to be a great, subtle way to add just a little something extra.

This spray is obviously a feminine product, but claims to be Superfruit- and Aphrodisiac-infused; turning into a great product to use when you're trying to seduce your lover or to meet someone new. This may or may not work for that purpose, since not all aphrodisiac-infused items live up to their claims.

This isn't a lubricant, it's not a massage product, it's not a scented product. The only real use for this product is to add a little sparkle to your best features.

Considering the simplicity of this product, the ingredients list is fairly long. Please take the time to look through the ingredients before purchasing and using. And like all products of this nature, discontinue use should it cause irritation.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This shimmer spray is very thin and watery. It's about the same consistency as a typical water-based lubricant; it can run, but not as quickly as water alone. It doesn't feel oily or greasy, in fact, it doesn't feel like much at all. It doesn't gunk up inside of the bottle, and sprays with ease.

On the skin, it feels very wet at first, especially because you need to spray a lot in order to even see the glitter, and it takes a while to dry. After the spray dries, it doesn't leave behind any feeling on the skin. It doesn't moisturize or leave the skin feeling silky. On the other hand it doesn't dry the skin either.

The glitter doesn't stay in place very well. Once the spray dries, the tiny flecks of glitter kind of come off right along with it. It would take a lot of spray to look glittery, and even more to maintain that look.

Taste / Aroma

There is no actual scent to this spray, even though they come in different 'scents'. This product, just like all of the products put out by Dona, come in Camu camu, Acai, Pomegranate, Goji berry, Mangosteen, and the one I'm reviewing, Blue Lotus. The color of the glitter inside your spray will depend on what 'scent' you have chosen. The Blue Lotus is obviously various shades of blue in color, but also has hints of teal as well.

No detectable scent, and absolutely no taste; this is an item you want to use in addition to other body care products.

Performance

Even after spraying over 10 times, you can hardly see any glitter. The glitter flecks are so tiny that they're barely noticeable, and the ratio of glitter to water is seriously off. No matter how much you spray, how often you reapply, and where you spray it; the glitter just isn't obvious enough to consider this a product worth purchasing.

There's no real need to clean this product off, it absorbs fine and the glitter fades away quickly. Should you decide to clean up before the glitter has faded, it's as simple as using a body wipe or washing with soap and water.

The glitter looks beautiful in the bottle, but when it's sprayed, it's truly nothing to write home about.

I thought maybe this product would work better being sprayed on my sheets for an extra little touch, but it didn't work any better there. In fact, it actually worked worse than it does on the skin. The good side to that, it didn't stain the blanket, but the glitter didn't add anything extra to our experiences.

Packaging

To my surprise, this glitter spray comes in a square glass bottle. Sadly, that's probably the best feature of this product. The clear glass bottle makes it easy to see the glitter it contains, and makes it look like a much better product than it actually is. Trust me, looks are deceiving when it comes to this product. This glass bottle contains 2 fl ozs of the spray, making it a fine option if you're interested in traveling with it.

The outside of this bottle has a label that looks just like all the labels from the Dona products; the background is blue on this one, and it looks like there's a black lace over the background color. It has the key points in one area; that it's paraben free, cruelty free, natural, and petro. deriv. free. It seems to me that this product isn't living up to what it should be, considering some of the ingredients aren't considered to be natural. Another area of the bottle lists the directions of use and the ingredients.

The top of the bottle has a silver cap that when removed, exposes the spray tip. The hole where the spray comes out of doesn't get clogged, but sprays really well.

The bottle is discreet to a small degree since it doesn't say anything about it being a sensual aid, but it does say that it's aphrodisiac infused. The bottle looks like a typical body care product and shouldn't draw much attention to itself.

Experience

I've tried a lot of Dona products and have really enjoyed the Blue Lotus scent, I thought that I would feel the same way about this spray, but that wasn't the case. Nothing about this product ended up being worth having. The glitter looks pretty in the bottle, but that's it. I have no use for it, and it's not even worth spraying on because all it does is make you feel wet and maybe add a little glitter to your skin. It's not expensive, but even if this was given away it wouldn't be something I would grab again.
Follow-up commentary
Dona, I'm so disappointed in you! While I didn't expect this product to go above and beyond my expectations, I at least expected it to meet them! Nothing about this product is good. I have no use for this item, and though it's still sitting on my dresser with my other body care items, it will be heading for the trash soon.
