Nipplettes - clamps by Cal Exotics - review by Hotflashes & Wetdreams

Buzzzzzzzz on one nipple. Buzzzzzz on the other nipple, too. And buzzzzzzzzzz on various other interesting places, all provided by Nipplettes from California Exotic Novelties. These rubber-coated, water-proof, vibrating, nipple clamps are battery-powered (no wires, yeah!), push-button activated, adjustable with an easy to use screw, and are a lovely shade of lavender to boot.

The clamps rubber coating is smooth, seamless, and phalate free so it is body friendly. While rubber, unlike silicone, can absorb bacteria; in most regular uses of this product this shouldn’t be issue. Because they are water-proof, they are easy to clean with soap and water.

These clamp vibes run on three watch batteries each, which come in the clamps; simply open the end of each clamp and remove the small piece of tape before use. The package includes six extra batteries. While I’ve not yet begun to wear these batteries down, I’ve heard from other users that, the battery life will be greatly extended if you remove them whenever you are not actively using the clamps.

The clamps have a gentle, hinged, clothespin-like jaw which can be opened wider by twisting the screw. I found that, even at their tightest, the clamps have an extremely gentle grip. This fits comfortably on large nipples, but left me wishing I had the option of making them even tighter. Unlike many more hard-core clamps, the sections of the jaw that grip the skin are smooth. This makes these a great toy for those new to nipple play and feeling cautious, or those with very sensitive nipples.

The push-button control is easy to use, and difficult to turn off by accident; a feature I greatly appreciate. The buzz is intense for such a small toy, and certainly gets a quick response. The clamps are quiet for the amount of buzz they carry, but there is an occasional rattle from the screw. This can easily be stopped by tightening it.

I tried these first on my own nipples, while playing alone. I wasn’t sure about the buzz, but found that I liked it as an initial stimulation. However the constant intensity stopped being pleasant for me after a few minutes, as it was strong but then didn't build. For my nipples, the clamps just don’t close tightly enough. The toys stayed on if I was lying very still (not a position I stay for very long if I’m having fun!), but fell off if I sat up or moved side to side.

On a whim I then tried them on my inner labia, where the clamp was a much better fit. If I were a marketer, I’d definitely be re-packing these as cunt toys! The clip was firm without being painful, especially as blood rushed to the happy area, and the buzz was phenomenal! When held in the lips folds, the clamps stayed in place quite well. The sensation was very arousing. Think of these as bullet vibrators with an anchor, so they aren’t slipping around as you move. And tucked happily in place they are nearly silent, so much so they could be an interesting surprise.

I also tried these with a partner, someone who is a big fan of nipple play herself. She also enjoyed the buzz, but also found the clamps to be too loose. We had a good time with them anyway, moving them from spot to spot, until we eventually had to go looking for one that was buzzing away somewhere under the sheets. Upon pulling it out, I also appreciated that these are rubber and, unlike silicone, every piece of lint, dust, and hair in my life had not become glued to the toy.

So in the end it is a really fun, well-made, toy within its limits. These won’t go in my top drawer, but I will always know where they are when I want some variation. Or if I want to play “find the vibrator” with someone. And now, with my ever-increasing collection of water-proof toys, I have got to find a girlfriend with a hot tub or Jacuzzi.

These are still in my toy bag, although I don't use them as often as I thought. The inability to tighten them enough to stay on nipples is very frustrating, because the buzz they produce is so enjoyable. I've continued to use them on labia, with a partner who likes the feel of the clamp screwed on very tightly. They will slide off sometimes, but are definitely great for warming up.

I want to try them next bullet-vibes-with-grips in my Spare Part harness. Regular bullet vibes slide around too much in the harness "pouch." I'm hoping these might clip to the fabric and stay in a more convenient location. More on that after the experiment!
