Romantic candle - mist by Kingman - review by AnotherRandomPervert

This is a decent candle if you're just going to use this for mood lighting. At only 2.75 inches (7 cm) tall and 7.7 inches (19.5 cm) around, this is a rather small candle for the price they're asking for. The candle does not have a list of ingredients, so I've no clue if there are any allergens in the jars contents. The only precaution listed is the typical warning label you'll see on any candle. The full message is listed near the end of this review.



I do enjoy using this candle to 'set the mood', so to speak. Not for a rendezvous with a lover, just a little something special for a one-person show. The candle is clearly not purple like it lists on the main page, but pink. I don't find pink to be appealing, but the light scent and soft light is for when I'm by myself.

The texture of the beaded wax is quite odd. When I had to reposition the wick due to it moving to the edge of the jar during shipping, the wax balls kept adhering to my fingers. (Yay for static cling!) I had a difficult time trying to keep all of the beads in the container while centering the wick. Thankfully, the beads melt and form a 'floating' disc of wax that can still be moved about. (Pictured below)


It certainly wouldn't be easy to pour, not all of the wax beads are in melting range and you'd just end up with a bunch of annoying wax beads all over you/your partner.

When I opened the candle, I had to bring it within a few inches of my face (picture a hand's width away) before I could smell it. I proceeded to light the candle and waited a half hour before smelling it again. It does not fill a room with scent, it seems to have a scent radius of 2-5 feet, depending on how long you're burning the candle.
It reminds me of sugar cookies, but I have to sit rather close to the minuscule candle to smell it. The only place it really can go is at my computer desk, and it's great to relax a bit at the end of the day.



I don't think it would have a good taste, as it's not meant for consumption.

It's still going strong for me, but I don't really use it that often. I'll burn it every once in a while for a couple hours to unwind a bit while reading at the computer. I shall assume it may last 15 or more total hours despite its size.
After blowing the candle out after an hour or so, I stuck my finger in the pool of melted wax, it was kind of greasy to the touch. Even if you were able to melt all of the wax in the jar, I would never use this for massage or even wax play, it feels quite uncomfortable on the skin.
To remove the wax from my hand, I rubbed off the excess and used the power of Dawn dish soap, warm water and a washcloth to get rid of the gross feeling film that had developed on my hand.

The lid was slightly dented upon arrival and the entire container is slightly different than what they show.


There's a warning label on the back mostly filled with common sense precautions, but I'll list what it says verbatim anyway.

"Warning To prevent fire and serious injury: Burn candle within sight. keep out of reach of children and pets. never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Trim wick to 1/4" before relighting. Keep all objects, including matches and wick trimming out of the candle. Do not burn for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Allow candle to cool before trimming wick or relighting. Keep out of drafts." (There is indeed a typo with the 'To' being unnecessarily capitalized.)

The product claims to have pheromones, but I do not notice anything different when lighting this compared to other candles. I suppose it differs from person to person.

I wish the jar came in a larger size or the smell was stronger.
