Cheap and Effective

Doc Johnson's antibacterial spray on toy cleaner is really quite ideal for both an extra boost of antibacterial protection on washed toys and for a quick cleaning of smooth, non porous toys. It has no lingering scent and leaves no residue
Published: April 4, 2010
Pros:
Effective, easy to use, unscented so no perfume-y odor, low cost.
Cons:
Not great for getting goo out of ridged toys, doesn't remove butt scent.

extremely useful review
I'm all for scrubbing the hell out of toys that get very dirty; butt toys, insertables, toys with ridges and bumps and nubs and creases and grooves that hold onto lube and fluids. I am.

But you know what? I also have a lot of toys that I only use for clitoral stimulation, toys that are sleek and seamless. I have silicone toys with no texture, metal and glass toys that are smooth as a baby's butt. And, honest to gods, I do not feel the need to scrub them half to death every time I use them. I just don't.

That, my friends, is where toy cleaner and wipes come in so handy. This toy cleaner from Doc Johnson, along with a cloth or wipe of some sort, is about the best thing since sliced bread.

It comes in a spray bottle and directions on the bottle instruct that you spray the toy from about six inches away, then let air dry or wipe with a cloth.

Letting air dry is good if you've already washed the toy and want to give it an extra dose of antibacterial protection, since the spray contains triclosan, the same thing that's in antibacterial soaps and hand santitizers. If you haven't washed first, you'll want to wipe the toy down with a damp rag or wet wipe along with giving it a spray, just to make sure you remove any residue from lube or body fluids.

Now I'm not going to say this is the be all and end all of cleaners if you're sharing your toys, either between partners or orifices. If you are, be smart. Sanitize your toys by boiling or bleaching or clean with good soap and warm water. If your toy has texture or was inserted, wash it right. Spray it when you're done for a bit of extra protection but wash right in the first place.

But, for me, for my clit toys, this 4 oz plastic bottle full of antibacterial goodness is a godsend. I spray, wipe with a paper towel or wet wipe, and go back to whatever I was doing before I had a quick wank. No hassle. No mess. No fuss.

I've not had any issues with reacting to residue from this cleaner that may be left on the toy. It seems to evaporate just like a hand sanitizer does. Full ingredients can be found in the product description/overview area, though, so if you have sensitivity issues to soaps and detergents, look them over before you buy to be sure. It is basically unscented so those sensitive to fragrance shouldn't have any problems with this cleaner.

Overall, this stuff rocks. It's effective and it's cheap. A perfect combo.
Follow-up commentary
I am actually way more impressed with this than I initially was, if only for the fact that it is lasting me a LOT longer than expected. I use it at least twice, three times a week and I have only used a tiny bit more than a quarter of the bottle.

This? Is a great value. GREAT.
