Choc my socks off? No chocolate here.

I would have to say that all in all it was a pretty bad experience. I was expecting a spicy chocolate and wound up with one of my least favorite smells in the world. It rubbed in badly and left a sticky mess. I will pass on this one.

Use

Made for sensual massage, this massage candle is honestly a bit of a let down. It serves the purpose of a massage oil just fine, however will need to be washed off when finished because it does not massage completely in to the skin. It is made of a base of soy wax so there might be some allergy concerns or skin sensitivities.

Ingredients:
Glycine soja (soy bean), Butrosperum parkii (Shea butter), prunus armeniaca (apricot) Kernel oil, perfume of some kind.

A good gift for massage it would make a lovely bridal gift, as well as be good for foreplay.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

To be honest, I was very disappointed by the texture and the residue that this left on my body. I will not be using this one on my man. I used it on my hands and arms and noticed that this managed to be both oily and sticky. It made me want to go and jump in the shower. I also noticed that the edges of the melted area got a strange almost chalky hard texture.

I tried to show the strange chalky line in the edge and the area the wick had rested.

Taste / Aroma

I was very put off by the smell of this. I do not like raspberry. I am trying to figure out how a chocolate chili candle smelled so much of raspberry. That turned me off from tasting it. I will see if my husband will taste it for my update to this review. I would not call the aroma strong, but I did not let it burn more than about ten minutes. It took much longer to melt then I expected out of a tea light made of soy.

after lighting again

This is after melting it again for about another ten minutes. I intended to taste it and to try rubbing it in to my skin better to see if it would improve the smell, but I just could not bring my self to taste it. The smell only improved slightly. It was more of a raspberry with a drip of chocolate.

Performance

One of the first things I noticed about this candle was that the wick burned so low my ceiling fan would blow it out. I put it in the corner of the room where there was the least amount of draft and it burned with a very low flame. I am not convinced that this entire candle will melt at once before the wick runs out however because the wax seemed to be only melting in the center.

Low flame

After trying to rub this in all of the way not once but twice with only slight luck I hopped in the shower. It was oily and sticky and I just wanted it off.

Follow-up commentary
I now actually like it less than I did even to begin with. We gave it another chance when I gave my husband a leg massage, and now his legs are nearly hairless. True story. I do not know if it was a reaction his skin had or what, but at least half of his hair has fallen off and it has the next day. I would say pay very close attention to the ingredients.

I too was bummed by this candle. We ordered one and ours wouldn't melt completely either, it went out once without a fan or any wind blowing. My fiance didn't like how it felt on his skin and my hands just felt gross!
