Christmas in January!
Despite the Christmas theme to this set, it is a great sampler for every gloss and balm lover. It's a perfect gift for the woman in your life and my fiance loved hers. The products keep chapped lips away and make lips sweet smelling, tasting and kissable.Published: January 19, 2012
Pros:
variety, fragrance, feeling
Cons:
Only liked SOME of the options
I purchased this lip set for my fiance from Not Soap Radio. She loves lip glosses and balms and with twelve pots you get a little sampling of each product they offer. Since I don't wear this stuff I'm letting her take over and write how she felt about each one.
This set is the best way to go as far as pricing goes! You get a nice sampling of each lip product Not Soap Radio has to offer. The ingredients for each individual pot is listed on a card insert that comes in the zipper case. If you're interested in what all those are I would search each one by typing the name into EF's search box.
You get in the set:
one pot of Coca Butter. This balm has a smooth, thin, balmy texture. It feels light on the lips and conditions them. It smells like a mug of hot chocolate to me and has a sweet taste to it.
two pots of Brown Sugar Scrub. This stuff is really gritty and feels like you're rubbing dry sugar on your lips. It smells like a brown sugar poptart but doesn't taste all that great. It is nice to exfoliate your lips wish and actually feels good when rubbing your lips together. It looks just like a pot of brown sugar.
two pots of Lip Conditioner. It has a sweet smell to it, kind of island smelling. I would say perhaps coconut? It doesn't have a flavor, at least not to me but it really smells wonderful. It is great to use under your favorite lip gloss or lipstick because it locks in moisture to keep lips smooth and hydrated. It has a balm texture goes on easily.
one pot of Vanilla Mint Lip Balm. This one has a gloss feeling when your swirl your finger in it but the texture is nice. It is pink in color but doesn't have a tint when applied. I notice maybe a HINT of a vanilla scent but I can't really tell. The taste is quite horrible to be honest and nothing minty or vanilla to it which is a shame because it does have a cool tingling feeling but I don't know if I will want to wear it because of the taste.
two pots of Matte Lips. This one has a light almond scent and is a nude shade of pink but doesn't have a tint when applied. Matte lips is also good to put under your favorite gloss or lipstick to keep them from drying out or wear it alone. It has a light sweet flavor.
one pot of Sweet Lips. This is a watermelon pink color balm and has a sweet fruity scent. I can't quite put my finger on what the flavor is supposed to be, it just tastes sweet and the smell makes my mouth water. It's glossy and smooth.
onepot of Super Shiny Lips. This is a pink thick gloss and it feel great on! It does make your lips super shiny. It smells fruity to me but doesn't really have much of a taste.
onepot of Breath Mint Lips. This is a light green balm with a minty smell. It's refreshing with a light mint tingle but it doesn't taste great. It is quiet glossy and leaves your lips shiny and cool. It does nothing for breath though.
onepot of Shiny Lips. This is a light pink balm not tinted, not glossy at all. It's thin and gives lips a slight shine. It smells sweet to me and is unflavored.

When do these lip balms expire?
-
Do they have a use by date? I know i tend to use my lip balms pretty sporadically so i'd want one that lasts ages.

Are these lip balms vegan?

Are these lip balms vegan? I'm thinking of getting a set for a vegan friend perhaps.
-
Unfortunately not, as these contain beeswax.
-
The ONLY vegan lip balms/glosses I've found on the site that don't have a sexual overtones (i.e. pheromones or "warming sensations") are these, which don't seem like a very good product to me:

At least, those are the only ones I've found (and I have looked before becaue I want beeswax-free products). Petroleum jelly makes me break out in acne around my lips, so I avoid that anyway. Gah.
Unfortunate, because I love lip balms. Boo. :/
