Classy Stuff

This high-quality oil belongs in the upper echelon of erotic enhancements for the bedroom. If I were asked what, exactly, Shunga oil adds to our already bloated collection of potions and concoctions, I would say that it adds class. Pure class. Use

Shunga Exotic Massage Oil is the best oil I've used for that purpose to date. Whether you're new to massage, or a veteran, this product will impress you. Even if you have no training, practical or professional, using this premium oil will make it seem like you do. It's pleasant aroma will heighten the mood, and its excellent durability will allow for longer and more effective massages. We've also used it for mutual masturbation, and found it so good, we begin every lovemaking session with a generous drop or five of this fantastic oil.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Much like most other kinds of oil, Shunga is thin yet slower-running than water. It has an almost velvety consistency that reminds me of extra-virgin olive oil. Easy to pour, it is best applied to the palms of your hands before the skin of your partner, where it can be warmed and worked without splashing onto unwanted areas.

While massaging, Shunga seems to find the perfect balance between slide and friction. It isn't as slick or greasy as silicone lubricant, yet it is slippery enough to allow your hands to glide comfortably over your partner's body. On the receiving end, I experienced intense and therapeutic sensations, deep in every joint and muscle.

It also has a light-golden color that, in my opinion, is less likely to stain than some other deeply hued varieties.

Taste / Aroma

The aromas offered in this line are broad and it could be said that Shunga oil has a little something for everyone. I, personally, have tried the lavender variety, and since my wife and I loved it so much, we have yet to branch out and explore any others. We found the strength of the aroma to be moderate; this based on having tried a few other, less expensive brands not offered on this site. The aroma was not only of ideal potency, but also quite pleasant. There was nothing offensive or off-putting about it, and as we were delighted to find, it served excellently as an aphrodisiac. We even stopped using scented candles because we preferred the clean, yet erotic essence of lavender over the over-used and somewhat tacky smell of vanilla. That said, Shunga does offer a vanilla variety and I'm sure it's equally wonderful.

Performance

This oil performed quite well for us. We had no problems with stickiness, quick absorption into the skin, or evaporation. Some oils I've used cause little bits of debris to ball up and rub, annoyingly, on your hands and between the fingers. But we had no issue with this brand. I'd say that, without re-application, this stuff last for about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the activity and the intensity of it.

As with oil of any kind. Do not use this stuff with latex condoms. Unless, of course, accidental condom failure is something you're aspiring to.

I also found that it didn't make my skin clammy after a massage. So if a shower isn't convenient, or you'd rather just go to sleep, this oil is both comfortable and safe to leave behind. Clean up is easy too. A simple wipe down with a wash cloth will take the oiliness away, while a quick shower with soap will do away with any unwanted residue for good.

We go through this stuff like gasoline. It's impossibly good. I won't buy anything else. All that remains is to try a few other scents. But for now, we're hooked on lavender.

    • I've never tried Shunga but I have the massage therapy kit from Kama Sutra and I love it! Do the Shunga oils absorb as well as Kama Sutra? Which do you like better and why?
    • I personally like the Shunga oils better than the Kama Sutra oils for the scent. To me they absorb about the same, the Shunga ones might take a little bit longer to fully absorb if you go real heavy with them. But I love the candy scents that Shunga has.
    • Thats good that they absorb quickly. I love the Kama Sutra oils but I'd like to try a Shunga and see if I like it. Do they leave you sticky? I'd imagine something so sweet and candy like would leave a sticky feeling. I think I'd like to try the vanilla, rose, or lavender. Of course those ones are sold out right now I think.
