somewhat useful review
For such a cheap looking bottle, this cleaner mists your toys with a wonderfully delicate cleanser that cleans; just as good as it smells.

When I saw the bottle in person, my first thought was that this was some sort of two-dollar perfume. For a company that is selling a toy cleaner, I would expect them to package a product with the same look that a chemical company gives, when it is trying to sell the idea of clean. When I used the cleaner I was expecting the nozzle to give a cheap spitting of cleanser--considering my reaction to the packaging. Much to my surprise the powerful spray of cleanser that misted out of the bottle impressed me. It suddenly became very easy to clean an assorted amount of toys without tiring out my finger from the spray nozzle.

As far as the cleanser is concerned, this is not a thick soapy cleanser. It is very thin and easy to spray. Within moments of the initial spray, the toy was easily cleaned with little more than a wipe down and quick run under some water, then left to air dry. One thing to note is that it is very easy to wipe the cleaner off of your toy. Where as some cleaners wipe off, but leave your toys looking as though you used cooking spray to clean them with. This toy cleaner on the other hand, left my toys looking like they came freshly out of their packaging.

I found that I enjoyed this product not only for it being very effective at cleaning an assortment of toys and equipment; but, that it does so with out smelling harshly of chemicals or garishly of perfumes.

Over all I was more than pleased by the use of the product. It was easy to use, and went way beyond its packaging presentation to give me a product that I will hopefully be buying more of in the future, standing that they update their look to match the worthwhile cleaner.
Follow-up commentary
I found that simple anti-bacterial soap, Softsoap, worked better to my personal preferences. The problem with Before and After Toy Cleaner, is that I never felt consciously that it cleaned. The cleaner didn't lather and it wasn't anti bacterial. Also, I just preferred the consistency of simple Softsoap to the very watery viscosity of the toy cleaner.

Since there is alcohol in this product, does it dry on its own very quickly or is it really necessary to rinse it off? I assume one could rinse it off before they used the toy the next time, right?
Your comments on product packaging were humorous. I never considered that the label looked cheap. Like a retro 70s look or something? Is it at least safety sealed and that kind of thing or does it come just ready to spray on your toys?

The bottle is a little silly looking, but I'm glad to hear it worked pretty well. Thanks for the review.

  • What does before & after do.. before you use it?
    • Is it both a lubricant and a sanitizer? how does that work?
    • It is not a lubricant but merely cleans the toys. When the toy is sitting around, it gathers fungal spores, dust, and bacteria.
    • Before you use it it sits there and looks pretty :P

In theory you're supposed to use it before you use your toys and then after you use your toys to ensure optimal cleanness. At least according to the bottle.

  • Before & After Toy Cleaner...
    • This one got lots of great reviews, but I've got a couple of questions for all you reviewers who use this. The description says you have to "spray, wipe, then rinse" but most of the reviews say no rinsing required. Can you guys confirm there's no residue if you don't rinse? One review mentioned it didn't clean the crevices of textured toys well. Anyone else have that experience? Would you say it replaces the soap & water routine completely?
    • Nah, it doesn't replace soap and water, in my opinion. It may be because I've used soap and water for so long, but I just don't see the benefit to spraying something and then wiping it off. I find the cleaner hard to wipe off on toys w/ texture, and maybe I'm nuts, but then I don't feel like a toy is really clean. It would do in a pinch, but I don't mind soap and water so that's what I go for 90% of the time.
    • I like the the idea of toy cleaner but I always wondered what exactly you wipe down with? What's a good cloth for that?
