Cloudy with a Chance of Fruit Punch

Shunga Sweet Snow is a great sensual product for teasing or enticing a partner when used carefully and sparingly. However if proper caution is not taken, you'll both just end up in a cloud of white fruity scented powder.

extremely useful review
The Shunga Sweet Snow comes in an elegant black tin covered in the usual Asian-inspired Shunga artwork with a lid that seals on very tightly. Inside you will find a feather applicator with a rounded black handle, a plastic bag containing 8 oz. of the sweet snow product, and a black satin pouch. The feather applicator comes wrapped in plastic, and a bit mangled, but with instructions to just hold it over a steaming kettle for a few moments to bring it back to life if necesary.

I figured the pouch was for storing the powder but when I tried opening the bag and allowed some of the Sweet Snow to be loose in the pouch, it instantly turned into a little satin rosin bag - emitting a cloud of powder into the air every time it was touched. I've since put all the powder in a ziploc and use the satin bag to hold the applicator, and keep both in the tin.

Once you figure out how best to store and contain the powder for yourself, it's very easy to use. Just dip or run the applicator through the powder and lightly run the applicator against your skin or sweep on gently. You can do this to your partner, or to yourself ahead of time to make your skin taste good. The powder is fine and doesn't get sticky even when licked, and is invisible when applied properly. It makes your skin feel just slightly smoother and softer - almost velvety - but not sticky or dry or uncomfortable. If enjoyed right away, it's definitely noticeable, but after a few hours I've found that the flavor tends to dissipate - I don't know if it's being absorbed or rubbed off, but it seems to disappear.

The powder itself is incredibly light and fine and is bright white. I chose the fruit flavor (cherry, raspberry, and honey being your other options), and when you open the bag containing the powder, you can smell it. It has a Hawaiian Punch sort of smell, generally fruity and sweet, but the scent fades once it's applied to the skin. It tastes mildly fruity but mainly just sweet when licked or kissed off of skin, which is nice because it's enjoyable but not distracting. It cleans off easily, whether it be by kissing or if you just wipe off with a damp washcloth or wipe if some was left behind and you'd rather not keep it on your skin. This makes it a poor choice for someone that wants to play int he water however since it will rinse off immediately.

Problematically, if this product is applied too heavily, spills, or creates a little fairy dust cloud in the air around you, as it tends to, the powder has a less than pleasing effect. I've noticed that if it's in the air around me and I get it in my mouth, it's gritty and also kind of bitter instead of sweet. So if you want the best possible experience with this product, please use it carefully and sparingly. I have spilled it on my bedding and some of my clothes and it wipes off with a damp washcloth and doesn't stain at all.

The product contains the following ingredients: Modified starch, Corn starch, Aspartame, Natural and/or artificial flavor, May also contain honey bake. I have tried to no avail to figure out what exactly "honey bake" is, but if mine does contain it (and I'm guessing it may just be in the honey flavor), I'm not having any problems with it or even noticing it. I have sensitive skin and have no problems with this but the aspartame may be a problem for people with aspartame sensitivities - it's best that they don't ingest this product.

The product would make a great sensual gift for a bridal shower, honeymoon, or just something to bring home to your love. It is best suited for couples unless you particularly enjoy licking your own skin or just knowing that you taste good - in which case, have at it.
Experience
I really love the product itself but I wish it weren't so messy to use. Applying it on each other with the feather applicator or even in front of my boyfriend is kind of out of the question for me because I consistently just end up in fruit punch flavored cloud, and inhaling the stuff from the air around me. To me, that's just not sexy.

When I do use it, I go through the messy application process alone, shortly before he's coming over or before we'll be playing. I like the smell, I like that it makes my skin taste good, even if it is just a general sugary flavor, and it makes me feel sexy to know that I'll taste good for him. And to me, anything this simple that can boost your confidence, make you feel good, and add an extra little special touch to my time with my man is well worth it. I'd recommend it to anyone willing to put up with just a little bit of a mess.
Follow-up commentary
While I still do like this product, I don't use it often. It's kind of a last thought to me, and since it can really only be applied BEFORE you get dressed, I rarely think of it. It is still nice on the rare occasion when I do though.

Great review! I put my powder in the tin. I find that isn't messy at all. Give it a try. I tried using the plastic bag and it didn't go very well.

Being engulfed in a cloud -- even a fruit punch-scented cloud -- does not sound too fun (cough, cough), but sometimes a bit of a mess is worth the fun. Sounds like this is one of those instances!
