Use

Cake Milk Maid Velveteen Hand Creme is a lightweight hand creme. I like to use it after a manicure scrub and in between cuticle oil treatments to keep my hands (and cuticles) well moisturized! Since it is a lighter lotion I wouldn't recommend that it be used as a body lotion, it's simply not thick enough to work well.

Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Cetyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Dimethicone, Stearic acid
Althaea officinalis (Marshmallow) extract, Milk Lipid, Mangifera indica (Mango) seed butter, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter), Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA

Glycerin - Locks in moisture and prevents moisture loss.
Cetyl alcohol - Used as an emollient, emulsifier, or thickening agent in the manufacture of skin creams and lotions.
Glyceryl stearate - Is used as an emulsifier, and lubricant. Also acts like Glycerin to lock in moisture and prevent moisture loss.
Cetearyl Alcohol - Is a thickening agent
Ceteareth-20 - helps other ingredients to dissolve in a solvent in which they would not normally dissolve
Dimethicone - is used as a skin conditioning agent
Stearic acid - is used as a emulsifying agent
Althaea officinalis extract - anti-inflammatory
Milk lipids - rich in vitamins and minerals, helps soothe irritated and distressed skin
Mangifera indica seed butter - has skin regenerative properties, also moisturizes and softens skin.
Butyrospermum parkii - conditions skin
Phenoxyethanol - anti-microbial
Caprylyl Glycol - skin conditioning agent
Sorbic Acid - anti-microbial
Carbomer - used to maintain consistency
Sodium Hydroxide - used to control pH
Tetrasodium EDTA - Disodium EDTA and the related ingredients bind to metal ions which inactivates them. The binding of metal ions helps prevent the deterioration of cosmetics and personal care products. It also helps to maintain clarity, protect fragrance compounds, and prevent rancidity.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Milk made velveteen hand creme is light enough to not be a butter but heavy enough to not be runny at all. It absorbs into skin fairly quickly (and you don't need a ton of lotion) and there's not much residue left on hands (a little oil until fully absorbed.) After the lotion is fully absorbed hands feel smooth and velvety.

The bottle is a pop open lid and a squeeze tube. It's very easy to get the lotion out but watch out cause it's also easy to get too much lotion!

Taste / Aroma

I tried to guess the scent before looking to see what it was. I picked up the raspberry scent right away but I really don't smell any vanilla. To me it smells like a baked dessert, and it's not so over powering that you can smell it if your hands aren't near your face.

If you don't do scented lotions EF also carries the unscented version.

Performance

I really think that this hand creme performed to my expectations. You have to reapply it after washing hands, if at all possible I would put it on before going to bed or after using a manicure scrub. If I use a manicure scrub and then use this lotion my hands seem to stay softer for a much longer time.

I find myself trying to compare this product to other products I've used but, the scent of this cream is just awesome!
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Paraben-free
