Crazy for this Massager!

The Crazy Girl Warming Heart Massager is a self activating hot pack that can be used for massage or just a general soothing heat pack. Overall, I give this product 4 stars because I really like the product, but the one star I took off is for major reasons. The directions are not clear about how to properly activate the massager and the company has a not-so-ethical solution to faulty massagers (see my experience section).

Use

The Crazy Girl Warming Heart Massager is good for solo or partner play. It gets HOT- like really, really hot!! I have a bad low back and this heats up and really relives the tension. The massager retains the super hot temperature for around 15-20 minutes and then dies down to medium warm for another 30-40 minutes. The massager can be paired with a massage oil or lube and slid across the body for a relaxing sensual massage. Often times I will pull one out and use it before I go to bed when I'm watching TV. They are quick and easy.

Some ways I suggest to use this massager are: low back, menstrual cramps, neck, shoulders, bottoms of feet, and anywhere on legs. It really helps with soreness and aches. Also when I feel a tension headache coming it is great for the back of the neck. I try avoiding taking painkillers as much as possible and this is a great solution.

Activating

I have gone through three of these massagers. The first one was so hard to activate but finally worked. I bent the disc back and forth so much it snapped in half. Then my boyfriend tried to bend the two halves and finally it activated. The second one never activated at all. I broke the disc completely in half and then into fourths. I was so frustrated and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.

I finally figured out what I was doing by the third massager! You don't literally bend the disc in half- you "pop" it back and forth a few times. The disc has a sort of indented "X" in the center that makes it bowl/concave shaped rather than flat. If you pop the bowl back and forth that will activate it!

I am very fascinated by the activation process of these massagers. Once you bend the disc you know it is working when the clear gel begins to become white and harden around the disc. The gel transforms into white tiny crystals and it is a chain reaction- first the area where the disc is located hardens and then the reaction spreads to the rest of the heart.

Reactivating

I feel that to make these massagers hot again it is way too much trouble. You have to boil water and put the massager into the water until it heats up. What I like about these is the convenience and boiling a pot of water is a whole lot of trouble compared to pulling a new one out of the drawer beside your bed while you are relaxing.

I do like that you can pop these into the freezer and make them cold packs. I have washed them and actually used them to keep food cold when I was traveling! I didn't have an actual ice pack and I only used it on my back and neck so why not? They don't hold the cold for hours but they stay cold long enough for a shorter trip.
Experience
These massagers are great (when you know how to make them work) and really can help with pain issues, or just help with a relaxing massage with your partner. One problem I do have with them is when you open up the box, there is a sticker that basically says, if the massager is hardened when you get it, follow reactivation directions. So, essentially, if the product is faulty and was accidentally activated before you purchased it, then boil it in some water. I feel like that is wrong for a company to say and that bad massagers should be replaced and that customers should not have to pay $8 for something that is essentially faulty. I have never had one that was already activated, but since seeing this sticker, it makes me suspect that this happens often. I did not contact Eden or Crazy Girl about this issue since I haven't had this problem, but because of the sticker applied to the packaging, I would assume Crazy Girl is not very willing to provide replacements.
