Creamy soft massage cream

Shunga Exotic Art has produced an amazing cream. It is creamy, pleasant smelling, and rubs in the skin well. A large jar for a decent price and a lid that tightens well will keep the cream form drying out. It is edible and can be used as a regular body lotion.

Use

The Shunga massage cream is used basically for massages. The aroma and the consistency of the cream provide a relaxing environment. Once rubbed into the skin, there is a moisturizing feeling left on the skin, not greasy or tacky, just a smooth feeling. The cream is edible although the taste is not the best in the world. It can be used as a body lotion also.

The cream would best be used to set the tone of a romantic evening (or day). The gentle fragrance that comes from the jar being opened to the slightly fainter aroma after being rubbed into the skin aids in setting the tone.
However, the cream does contain several ingredients that may cause reactions to sensitive skin. It is to be used externally only and open areas on the skin should be avoided.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The Shunga cream is not a solid cream but it's not a liquid either. If you turn the jar on it's side with the lid off, the cream will run out. It is the consistency of most lotions. Unless you dip too much out of the jar, it will stay in place until you get it rubbed in, unless you decide to wait a long period of time.

Initially, when applied, it feels somewhat greasy but when rubbed completely in the skin, it leaves a soft moisturizing feeling. It works well as a hand lotion or an overall body lotion. It does dry fairly quick but if you apply the cream as you go, it will work out fine.

Taste / Aroma

I ordered the cherry flavor and when I opened it, there was a smell of cherries that infiltrated my nose. It wasn't overly strong but strong enough to distinguish that it was cherries. When first applied to the skin, the same sweet smell remained. It did fade some as the cream was rubbed into the skin. But, even afterwards, there was a slight cherry smell that hung in the bedroom.
The taste of the cream is not one I particularly like. It didn't taste like cherries and didn't really have any taste to it. However, it left a lotion-like residue on my tongue. There was also a slightly greasy taste in my mouth.
The cream comes in 4 flavors: mint, cherry, vanilla fields, and raspberry kiss. The only one I have is the cherry.

Performance

The Shunga Cream is water-based and the following are the ingredients that make up the cream: Water, Stearic acid, Glycerin, Carthamus tinctorius, Sorbitol, Cetyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Peg 100 stearate, Petrolatum, Triethanolamine, Aroma, Methylparaben, Sodium saccharin, Honey, Tocopherol acetate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.

Because of some of the ingredients, anyone with sensitive skin or prone to allergic reactions should do a test spot before covering yourself in the cream. Unfortunately, I am one that has a lot of 'abnormal' allergies but this cream didn't bother me at all.

The cream is designed for external use only. If you have open sores or wounds or any other skin issues, you should avoid using the cream on those areas. Again, it should be used externally only. It is not a lube. It can be used as a lotion if you desire to do so as it does have moisturizers in it.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Packaging

The cream comes in a round plastic jar surrounded by a clear plastic wrap. The outside of the jar is decorated with a picture of a lady fingering herself which suggests some sort of cream is inside it.

The top of the black jar states 'SHUNGA erotic art.' It contains 7 ounces and even with the product's name on the top, and I would have no problem carrying it through the TSA check points if it was a 3 ounce or less jar. The label can be removed easily. Inside the box is a piece of folded paper with numerous languages on it providing directions for the use.

The instructions are pretty self explanatory. You just put the cream on your partner, or yourself, and work into the skin.

The jar did not leak during shipping and has not leaked since it was opened. The screw on top closes the jar tightly which will also keep it fresh for a long period of time. We have used the cream several times on each of us and the jar looks as full now as it did when I opened it.
    • Travel friendly
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

It should be noted that the cream does have several ingredients that aren't very healthy if consumed. I can't imagine anyone actually eating this stuff due to the taste. However, some concerns are that it does have saturated fats, glycerin, and artificial sweeteners.
It is a little cool when initially being applied but the coolest disappears once you start rubbing it in. It is not designed to provide any cooling, tingling, or warming sensations.

Experience

We have used the cream several times and have enjoyed it each time. I have super dry skin in the winter and have used this to rub on my hands and feet at night. It does seem to have a more moisturizing effect than some of my lotions.
