Use

We all know that salt has amazing properties to it. The NaCl (sodium chloride - naturally occurring; table salt) and Mg (magnesium) sulphide (Epsom salt) have been used for thousands and thousands of years by many cultures as a pampering ritual and some even believed the mineral deposits to have spirit-healing properties.

Add anywhere from a tablespoon to a handful of bath salt under running water and soak all of your problems away. You will walk out of your bath sweet smelling and absolutely revitalized! These salts do not leave your skin chalky or white, like some of the bath salts that I've used. The crystals disolve wonderfully and do not leave any residue behind. So go ahead, take a chance on making yourself feel like royalty! Pamper yourself, sooth your skin, and relax all of your worries away!

My friends have said that they use their Dona bath salts in conjunction with their other products. You guys know I had to give it a shot as well. After I saw how great these salts were, I went ahead and bought the bath milk, shower gel, body butter and the parfum. I will probably get a lot of the other items from the line when I get some more money. I am now officially a Dona fanatic!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The bath salts are really huge; almost comparable to Kefir grains. The bath salts feel moist and oily, but not greasy (and the moisture tends to make the water feel "soft"). Some of the bath salts tend to clump because of the moist contents, but releasing the clumps with your hands is all it takes to alleviate this problem. It is fairly easy to scoop a handful out and place it into the running bath water.

Once the invigorating salts are dissolved the water feels slippery and just divine! There was no residue on my skin after the bath and my skin did not have a white appearance afterward either. Cleanup was a snap because there was none! I didn't have to rinse my bathtub afterwards; there wasn't any residue to actually rinse! Go Dona!

Taste / Aroma

The aroma of these salts are heavenly! I purchased the pomegranate and boy oh boy I am glad I purchased that scent. It is very similar to pomegranate with a slight hint of a vanilla type of scent. The smell is very strong in the jar but when it is in the water it mellows out to a perfect balance of heavenly scented goodness.

The bath salts are not flavored because they are not meant to be eaten - so please do not eat these bath salts.
    • Smells good

Performance

The bath salts have made my skin so luscious, sexy, and smooth! My skin is much softer and healthier and I know it is because of these bath salts. There is no rinsing the tub afterwards, no residue, no greasy/oily feel. How can you not love these salts. I will definitely be buying more of these. The water feels so soft against my smoother skin and I still smell like Pomegranate bath salts even after my bath. About an hour after my bath, I can still walk into my bathroom and smell the bath salts.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Allergy concerns
    • Long lasting

Packaging

Packaging is very minimal. The bath salts come in a jar and that jar is the only packaging that it comes in.
As long as the lid is closed well, the contents shouldn't spill. There is a safety self atop the jar that will ensure that no one opened the jar, besides you.
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Minimal
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

Dona

Bath salts

Ingredients:

Sodium Chloride is everyday natural table salt. It does have softening and mild antiseptic properties.

Magnesium Sulfate is Epsom Salts. Magnesium sulfate can also be absorbed into the skin, reducing inflammation. It is known to help with everything from stiff and sore muscles to migraine headaches. It has multiple applications from gardening to industry. It is a common salt found in sea water and other places. It is used in the food industry for binding, thickening and moulding.

Silica is a crystal found in common sand which is used to make glass. Inhaling small particles of silica is not safe, but the silica in these bath salts seems to be bound in larger crystals. Crushing these crystals is probably not a good idea. Silica in water has been linked to lowered incidences of dementia.

Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide or complex sugar. It is used as a starch in the food industry. It is most likely in these bath salts as a binder, as it also has the properties of a starch.

Sodium Hyaluronate is a disaccharide. It is used in medicine as a synovial joint lubricant. Meaning, it can help relubricate arthritic joints when administered by injection. It is also used for eye surgery, reduces wrinkles on the face and helps a certain type of urinary ailment when administered directly into the bladder. I am not sure what application it has in bath salts, but it may be to help lubricate joints or help with skin softness.

Beta Glucan, another polysaccharide, is derived from mushrooms or the bran of cereal grains. It is used to improve the immune system.

Panthenol is a chemical used for moisturizing. It is sometimes mixed with allantoin, and is used for
treatment of sunburns, mild burns and minor skin disorders. It improves hydration, reduces itching and inflammation of the skin and improves healing skin sores and is moisturizing (a humectant - it attracts
moisture).

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein is a cereal based flavor enhancer, similar to MSG. I am not sure at all why it was included in a bath salt. Those sensitive to MSG may want to slowly introduce small quantities of the bath salts to make sure there are no reactions.

Allantoin is commonly used in cosmetics as a moisturizer and helps Panthenol work more effectively.

Aloe Barbadensis, Aloe Vera. It has long been used as a skin conditioner and treatment for burns and other mild skin problems.

Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Oil is left over from wine making. It is used as a moisturizer.

Laminaria Digitata (Algae) Extract is a sea vegetable. It is used in the cosmetics industry for binding, thickening and moulding. Those sensitive to iodine may want to ask their HCP or introduce the product in small doses and watch for reactions.

Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Fruit Powder is from a palm tree. The fruit of this tree has been used as a sustainable and renewable resource that has a sweet taste and strong antioxidant properties.
Follow-up commentary
By Golly these bath salts are the most sweet smelling bath salts I've ever experienced. I feel like I am bathing in luxury. The pomegranate scent definitely has me spell bound. I will most certainly be a regular customer and I must check out the other scents.
