Use

Dona Massage Oil is a sensuous and moisturizing massage oil that is appropriate for anyone. I also works great for moisturizing knees, elbows and feet, which are the most common problem areas for extreme dryness. I used this after shaving and it seems to have reduced the after shaving dryness of my legs. It is infused with the Blue Lotus aphrodisiac and has a light, refreshing floral aroma. The aroma is so subtle that most men should not have a problem using this product.

I paired this with my hands for the kneading strokes, the Luxe Replenish Massager and a wooden roller made for massages. My husband was putty in my hands. This is perfect for couples, individuals wanting to pamper themselves with mini-massages and as a great gift item. Pair it with a nice towel, the Luxe Replenish, the Octopus Massager, the Dona Massage Candle to make a thoughtful and appreciated gift basket.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The oil is golden yellow in color and is very thin. It has the same consistency as vegetable oil. The massage oil pours easily and fast out of the open lid and will spread rapidly all over the surface it was poured on. It does not stay in place at all, I used a towel under my husband to catch the runoff.

Once you start rubbing it in, it does stay in place and absorbs fairly rapidly. I recommend massaging small areas at a time to reduce the amount of re-application. The feel is nice and smooth, slightly oily but not for an extended period of time.

Depending on the amount of oil used, the oil will absorb rapidly into the skin. My husband did not feel a need to shower after the massage. His skin felt moisturized but was not greasy, slippery or "heavy" feeling. It left him feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Taste / Aroma

I kissed my husband and had a perfume taste in my mouth that was very unpleasant. It did go away after drinking water, but I do not recommend tasting this product.

The aroma starts out very light and smells like pureed cucumbers. It is very subtle and changes to a light, lily of the valley aroma that will last on the skin for about an hour. It is extremely light and cannot be smelled by others unless they are very, very close to you. It is very relaxing and pleasing to the senses.

Performance

As a massage oil it takes a bit more of the product to get a smooth rub for your massage. The oil does absorb right in to the skin and does not leave an oily coating. The moisturizing properties are excellent, especially on dry body areas. The effects of the moisturizer lasts for hours. The aroma is light, refreshing and very subtle. It lasts for about an hour and then fades rapidly. There was not enough oil left on my hands to really wash off, so I applied a bit and it came off very easily with soap and water. The aroma was absent as well.

I love the rapid absorbtion, aroma and moisturizing properties of this oil. I do wish it was a little thicker so it would stay in place easier. The rapid absorbtion is a bonus and a negative. The bonus is no residue on your skin after the massage, but the negative is having to re-apply often for longer massages.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Reapply often

Follow-up commentary
When you layer the Dona products, the aroma is more pronounced and lasts a lot longer on your skin. You also get some of the more subtle tones and nuances, this makes for a fuller and more effective aroma.

I have not noticed any reactions from the aphrodisiac, so would not recommend this a as sexual magnet. As a great line of body products, however, this is definitely recommended.
