Earthy Pampered Princesses

This lotion is very unassuming, light and easily absorbed. It leaves the skin soft, hydrated and pleasantly fragrant. It is not flowery or musky and takes on your natural scent adding to the allure rather than covering and overpowering. Just out of the bottle, however, the smell can be a bit overpowering (it has a heavy amount of frankincense) and slightly unpleasant.

extremely useful review
Angelic Aroma's Princess Pamper ME Now Lotion comes in an 8 ounce, deep blue plastic bottle with a flip top lid. Nothing too fancy, but it is unbreakable and very pretty on a bed side table. It has a paper label which seems at any moment to want to fall off, but it makes it easy if you prefer just to have the bottle without a label. On the left side of the label is printed: "Pamper yourself as a Princess...YOU DESERVE IT darling! Apply generously as needed, to keep you glowing from head to toes as a lovely PRINCESS...!!!!ooh!". Not the most poetic of instructions but definitely cute. The mailing address of the company is also listed on the label which is nice should there be a problem with your lotion. The center of the label is very unassuming, this is truly a lotion with the only sexual overtones being the ones you ascribe to it! It has the name of the company is fancy script and a picture of a 1940's woman holding a poodle. The name of the lotion is printed on her dress. The part of the label I found most interesting and useful was the right side where the ingredients are listed.

The ingredient list begins with 100% pure love as the first ingredient! Very sweet, no? It goes on to list: Essential oils of coriander, clary sage, bergamot, benzoin resinoid, cedarwood, litsea cubeba, mandarin, geranium, cypress, frankincense, nutmeg and vanilla in a base of purified water, apricot, avocado, and safflower oils, vegetable emulsifying wax, wheat germ oil, glycerin, glycerine sterate, cocoa butter, rosehip oil, vitamin E, cetylalcohol, dimethicone, gemall.

The website for the company is printed under the ingredient list.

Just out of the bottle you notice the coriander and clary sage first. The frankincense gives the lotion a smoky overtone and the vanilla makes it smell fresh and warm. The fragrance is somewhat odd at first sniff, almost unpleasant and medicinal even for someone, like me, who loves to mix her own lotions from essential oils and fresh herbs. I would have liked a bit of a lemony scent and would have added lemongrass or other lemon scented essential oil. Still, after discussing this fact with both Sigel and Arch I tried a bit of the lotion on the inside of my elbow. I have VERY sensitive, delicate skin so I always test a new skin product carefully on a sensitive but easily hidden place in case I break out. After about thirty minutes there was no irritation and the lotion had soaked into my skin leaving just a soft, smooth finish with no greasy or sticky film. The scent was...well exotic is the only description that adequately describes what was left. The oils had blended together to leave a scent that is distinctive but not "girly", a very fresh and herbal scent. I was pleased with the scent after rubbing it into a larger section of my arms.

Arch has a very sensitive nose and he wasn't bothered by the fragrance even when applied generously so I'd say it would be good for those people for whom scent makes their sinuses miserable. Even Sigel, who doesn't even like perfume was unaffected by the scent of this lotion which is a very big plus in this family.

The lotion is very light and soaks in to the skin readily, though a little bit goes a long way. Given the antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties of the first oils listed in the ingredients it is great for treating broken or irritated skin. It can leave a slight stinging sensation on a rash but it is quickly followed by a soothing of the skin that makes it worth the initial discomfort. The scent is pleasant enough to just use the lotion to scent your skin and the lotion leaves the skin soft, silky and healthy looking. Most of the oils in the product are listed as "warm" oils which means they will bring the blood to the surface of the skin giving it a "glow" as advertised! It is mild enough to use all over the body though some of the oils are abortifacients in large doses and I would counsel being careful if you are pregnant.

The lotion makes a wonderful light massage oil though it needs to be reapplied more often than I, personally, like as it soaks into the skin quickly and easily. It leaves the skin tingling and warm which is very soothing on tired muscles. It doesn't provide the best platform for a deep tissue massage as it can lose lubricity rather quickly causing the massage to be a bit less soothing. This is not a lube and shouldn't be used as one.
Experience
I used the lotion on my arms where the skin is usually dry and grouchy in the winter and was very pleased with the results: soft, glowing skin instead of blotchy and itchy skin. Sigel complained that the skin on his lower leg was "on fire" and I figured what the heck, let's give it a try! I rubbed a small amount into the affected area and he actually sighed with relief! I quickly smoothed in the lotion on his other leg and he was pleasantly surprised that the oil soothed the skin, soaked in cleanly and the scent was masculine enough that he didn't feel "girly".

Arch got a bit jealous about the impromptu leg massage so I used the lotion on him as well. Once again we were all pleased with the scent of the lotion since it didn't overpower the room but did leave a clean, fresh smell that was noticeable hours later when we returned from shopping.
Follow-up commentary
I've actually started to like this product more! I used it on my winter dry skin and it soothes the broken skin and helps it heal faster! I love the fragrance of the lotion. There is an added benefit for the ladies...cedarwood is an aphrodisiac for guys!
