Bella in bloom - eye shadow by Bella Il Fiore - review by Tuesday

Bella Il Fiore Bella in Bloom face palettes are a collection of eye shadows, lip glosses, and blushes contained in an attractive container with a generously sized mirror and magnetic closure.

This would make a terrific travel makeup set for the woman whose coloring is compatible with the palette selected. Inside the palette is a 3 1/2 by 2 1/4 inch mirror to make applying this makeup anywhere you go easy.

The color of the products in the Tropique palette are close to the colors in the above photo, at least when viewed on a PC; although, the blush color is slightly warmer in the actual palette and the lip colors are slightly darker and more bold. The eye shadow colors in this picture are quite close to those in the actual product, although the bronze/gold color is a bit cooler than what is shown in the picture.

The actual colors are warmer than the colors shown in the picture of the Tropique face palette on the product page.

Eye shadow:
The pressed powder eye shadows come in four colors.



The first three colors are suitable for those with skin tones compatible with cooler colors. The fourth color is a warmer more golden color.

Lip Gloss:
The three lip glosses are firm, almost like a lipstick pressed into the rectangular areas for them. The top two are suitable for those who prefer cooler colors. The bottom color is a warm, bronze color.



Blush:
The blusher is a beautiful light pink with just a touch of warmth to it.

None of the parts in this palette have an aroma or a taste. Those sensitive to particular tastes or scents will not be bothered by this palette.

Eye Shadow:
The two middle eye shadows of the Tropique palette apply transparently and require multiple applications to be clearly visible. The darkest color goes on very dark. The bronze/gold color is somewhere in between as far as the intensity of color.

Once on, the colors do not blend quite as well as other brands of eye shadow. The Tropique palette seems designed for those who want a natural, subtle look.

One way to use the Tropique palette is to apply the second color from the left to your lid, the off-white shadow under your brows and the dark shadow in the crease of your eyelid. For some, the bronze color may be a better choice for use on the lid. If the dark shadow in the crease appears too bold, sweep a brush back and forth across it to blend.

The shadows last all day without collecting in the crease of your eyelid.

Lip Gloss:
The lip gloss is easy to apply thinly. It will not be difficult to achieve just subtle coloring and shine on your lips with these glosses. Once on, you can see that they are frosted and have a pleasing amount of shimmer.

They last as long as a typical lipstick does. The lip gloss feels wonderful on your lips.

Blush:
The blush should be applied with a very light touch. It goes on stronger than most blush products. You will want to just touch your brush to it and sweep it across your cheeks. It may require practice to apply it without it looking too heavy. Once applied correctly, it looks natural and is a shade that probably will look good on many women.

The set comes with sponge-tip applicators for the eye shadow. It also comes with another applicator with a small brush on both sides. Probably this brush is intended for use with the lip gloss. But the tips are fairly pointy and actually work reasonably well as eyeliner brushes. In fact, the dark eye shadow color works well as eyeliner. Apply it with a wet or dry brush depending on how bold you want the eyeliner to look.

The brushes are stiffened with something so they maintain their point. You will need to wash them thoroughly before use to removing the stiffening agent.

The Tropique Face Palette is packaged with only shrink wrap around it. Once open, you will see a protective clear plastic sheet keeping the product from contact with the mirror.

Once closed, it stays closed, held in place by two magnetic closures. The closures hold it closed firmly enough that it is unlikely to open by itself when stored in your purse.
