EOS - Extra Ordinary Shaving cream

I was excited about this shaving cream but in the end, it was just nothing special. It did a good job on my coarse underarm hair and left my skin feeling more moisturized than regular shaving cream does, but I probably will not buy it again. It dulls razors quickly and I had to rinse my blades constantly just to finish my legs because the cream was so thick it clogged them up.

Use

This is shaving cream produced by the Evolution of Smooth brand. EOS makes a lot of skincare products, like several different shaving creams, lip balms, and lotions. This shaving cream is very thick and lotion-like, so it would work great for someone with dry skin or who simply doesn't like regular shaving cream.

This product is best used in the shower with water and a sharp, new razor. The thickness of this cream can clog and dull a razor quickly, which some users may find to be not worth it.

It comes in five different scents or an unscented version in case you prefer no scent. The others are vanilla, jasmine/lavender, pomegranate raspberry, island blue, and cucumber melon.

As with all health and beauty aids, there may be allergy concerns if you have a known allergy to certain ingredients and it is important to always check the labels and find out for sure.

The ingredients are as follows:

Water (Eau), Mineral Oil (Huile Minerale), Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Triethanolamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Petrolatum, Glucono Delta Lactone, Sodium Benzoate, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Carbomer, Fragrance (Parfum), Disodium EDTA, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter(, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propylene Glycol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is a very thick shaving cream. It is not a foamy cream like most shaving creams, nor is it a gel. It comes out of the pump just like a thick lotion and does not foam up much during use. It also feels like a lotion as you rub it on your skin. Even though it is very thick, you can smooth it around easily, especially with the help of a little water. It feel slick and smooth after putting it on.

Taste / Aroma

I have the vanilla scented one. It has a very, very light vanilla scent. It does not linger for very long on the skin either. It smells good and not artificial. I noticed when I was using it in the shower that it almost smells like vanilla bean ice cream.

It is not edible and should not be ingested.

Performance

This shaving cream lasted as long as any shaving cream would; I rubbed it on my skin and shaved it off. It left my skin smooth and not dry feeling after I got out of the shower. I rinsed it off like normal and it left no residue.

I don't typically use shaving cream. I actually use hair conditioner or have even used lube before, but I was intrigued by this one and I like vanilla scented products so I gave it a try.

I did my underarms first and it did a nice job on them. They were totally smooth and that is a hard area to do because the hairs are more coarse. I did my legs next and I don't think it made a bit of difference on them. I could have been using anything and gotten the same result.

This product, because it is so thick and creamy, is hell on razors. I use nice, but disposable, razors and this cream really did a number on them. It clogs the blades and you basically have to rinse after every shaving stroke. Even with all that rinsing, I found it was still dulling my razors very quickly.

I had the same issue with my razors being clogged. I am trying to finish this off before I even use the Coochy shave creme I got. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the review. Just ordered this since the coochy shave was out of stock and I read some good reviews on this. At least I know that it does do a good job.
