Use

This lip gloss is phthalate free, petrolatum free, gluten free, and paraben free. If that isn't enough, it also wasn't tested on animals, is 95% organic and 100% natural. It is lightly scented and flavored. Each ball has 0.25 fluid ounces of lip gloss, at the rate I use, it will last me a good long while. The only downside is that, as other reviewers have pointed out, this can be found a bit more cheaply elsewhere.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Inside the plastic container is a ball of lip gloss. It is thick enough to easily stand by itself, but is easily applied to the lips. It applies smoothly to the lips, and while it's not sticky, sometimes it can feel a bit waxy because it contains beeswax.

The ingredients are: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Cucumis Melo (Honeydew Melon) Seed Extract*, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract*, Limonene, Linalool.

Taste / Aroma

We got the honeysuckle variety, and this lip gloss also comes in sweet mint, lemon, strawberry sorbet, summer fruit, and tangerine. The honeysuckle lip gloss has a light fruity scent that for some reason reminds me of starburst candies. The smell is sweet and not too noticeable until you get up and smell it. The taste is similar to the smell tasting slightly sweet and of honeydew. The taste is noticed when it’s applied to the lips, but is by no means overwhelming.

Performance

This lip balm is easy to smooth on the lips, and once there, it lasts a good long while before needing to be reapplied. Just like it’s supposed to, it moisturizes the lips, keeping them nice, soft and smooth without needing to be constantly applied. It goes on perfectly, not too thick and not too thin.

Packaging

The lip balm came packaged inside a small plastic sphere about the size of a ping pong ball. It had a band of plastic around the seam in the middle to make sure nobody gets into your new lip balm before you do. The bottom is flat, so that it can stand up without rolling away and there is a little indentation in the side that gives a place to hold onto while opening. It has EOS written on both the top and bottom of the egg just in case you forget who it’s made by. The lid unscrews easily with three quarters of a turn and since it clicks into place once you screw it on, there is very little chance of it accidentally coming open. While this can be done one handed, it is much easier to do with two hands. The only downside is that the egg is a bit oddly shaped to fit into a pocket well, but it would be right at home in a purse or the pouch of a backpack.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Travel friendly
Follow-up commentary
This lip balm is still as good as ever. The honeysuckle flavor is still delicious as ever and because I need to use so little every time it's going to last a good long while. All in all there are definitely no complaints here.
