Use

Massage candles are a wonderful, wonderful thing. Making them smell like delicious tropical drinks is even better. The only downside to this awesome candle is that it's not edible. It's luxurious, all natural, and all around fantastical.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

In its solid state, the wax is well, very solid. It's not as soft as the JimmyJane Embers, but it will melt enough with the pads of your fingers that you could dab a little behind your ears as sort of a solid perfume kinda thing.

In its liquid state, the wax very much resembles a nice massage oil. It's been slightly on the thicker side than the runny side for me, and stays in place pretty well, all things considered. I've never been left with a waxy residue, and any really greasy feeling I feel goes away within about 20 minutes or so after we stop rubbing it around.

Taste / Aroma

I have the passion fruit/vanilla scent, but this candle is also available in orange/vanilla, or just plain vanilla. The passion fruit one smells just like a glass of fruit punch, and it's absolutely divine. Unlit, it smells pretty strong. Not enough to scent even a small room like a bathroom, but still pretty strong for an unlit candle. Lit however, it's not overpowering. It's easy enough to smell it if you're within a few feet of it, which if you're planning on massaging with it, you probably will be. Honestly though, it wasn't designed to be a scented candle, and the scent lasts longer on the skin than in the air. You still need to be relatively close to smell it on someone, but the scent lasts about as long as a good lotion does.

Performance

It works well as a massage aid, not needing a whole lot at one time, and not needing to be reapplied very often unless the person on the receiving end likes things a bit more slippery. Something I thought was really neat was that even though I could use a couple spoonfuls for my fiance's whole back and have that last a solid 5 minutes or so, I could also rub almost a whole spoonful into just my forearm and it would soak in pretty much as soon as I stopped trying to rub it around.

You might not like the feeling of the oily wax when you're all done with it, and if you used a whole lot, a shower will probably be in order, but I've been able to get any excess off my hands pretty easily with just a towel.

Packaging

You get a tin that's about 3" across and 2 1/2" tall, and is completely black, except for the lid and the label on the bottom. There's nothing at all risque about any of it, so you can feel free to leave it out. The lid just says "Tantric natural soy massage oil candle" and the scent, and the label on the bottom gives you fun information like it has a 60 hour burn time, use it as a candle, massage oil, or moisturizing lotion, and of course, has a list of ingredients: soybean oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil, avocado oil, apricot oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, and fragrance derived from natural sources. (I'd also like to make the nerdy observation that this is the first time I have ever typed out an ingredients list that didn't say I misspelled anything)

There weren't any real instructions, other than the instructions to keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" or less, but for the best burns, try to let it burn all the way across if you can. You also get a handy dandy little spoon, that you can easily store right back in the little tin (waiting of course until the wax has resolidified). The bowl of the spoon is a little bigger than a dime, and here's a little picture for you.

Experience

This was another on the long list of candles I went nuts buying with gift cards and coupons and I would gladly pay full price for it. The wax is soft and luxurious for massages and even just after shower moisturizing. The scent is amazing and lingers lovingly on the skin. And it actually works for massages. Seriously, this thing is amazing.
