Fun and Foam (Blue Lotus)

This stuff is nice enough, I have no real complaints other than I wish the bubbles lasted longer but I don't think bubbles in baths generally last particularly long anyway. This bubble bath smells good and doesn't give my skin any bad reactions so I will continue to buy it for myself in the future.

Use

I always loved bubble baths as a little kid, and as an adult I still do. After moving into a new apartment with a nice, shiny, clean tub I knew I had to get my hands on some bubble bath as well. Instead of grabbing the cartoon character-topped bottles I loved as a kid, I decided to give Dona's bath foam a try.

As should be obvious by now, Dona bath foam is for adding bubbles to a relaxing bath. It cleanses the skin lightly and adds a nice scent to the bathwater. You can use it alone when you need to wind down or with a partner for a romantic time. It can be used with other Dona products to layer a particular scent and provide a unified experience. The bottle recommends a 5-step ritual using their products, and the bubble bath is step 2, the cleansing step.

This product would be a very nice gift for someone who enjoys bubble baths, especially if combined with a few other Dona products.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture is thin but it drips away in strings, not drops like thinner liquids. It's about the consistency of thick vegetable oil, or thin honey. The color is about like that as well, a transparent gold. It's mildly sticky on skin if you let it dry on you, like a liquid soap would.
It's very easy to pour without much of a mess. I fill the cap, dump it in, then wipe out the cap before putting it back on the bottle.

Taste / Aroma

The Blue Lotus scent smells mostly floral to me with a bit of fruit and something vaguely like the ocean in the final, lingering bit. It's strong in the bottle or on one's hand and smells very refreshing and clean, like a fancy soap. I wish I could describe the scent to a more detailed degree. It does smell good, I can tell you that much!

Unfortunately, once used in a bath, I felt the smell didn't hang around much at all. If I scooped up some water and bubbles in my hands I could smell it but it didn't fill the bathroom or anything. This is good if you wanted to do something like burn incense in the bathroom without conflict of smells though.

Performance

This product performs well in the short term. That is, if you take short baths, you'll probably like this product. I used about four cap-fulls for a decent amount of bubbles that lasted maybe ten minutes before dissipating. If I used more, maybe seven cap-fulls, I had bubbles up to my chest but they still only lasted around ten minutes before fading into nothing more than cloudy water swirled with the white remnants of my bubbles. I wish it lasted longer since I like my baths to last a while! Even if I put more cap-fulls in after the bubbles faded, it seemed like I couldn't get more bubbles to form after the water was already saturated.

I did really like that my skin didn't feel coated, slippery, or dried out after the bath. This product didn't do too much other than create bubbles and create a mild soap effect which is literally all I wanted out of it.

Packaging

The bottle this product comes in is very pretty, just like the rest of the Dona line. It has a burgundy lace print on the label with a black, plastic cap on top of the 8.5 fl. oz. bottle. I would say the bottle is discreet, as it should be since this is only a bubble bath and not a lube or anything. The only thing that would make anyone possibly think this was from a sex toy-related parent company is the references to this being "aphrodisiac infused." You might not want to give this bubble bath to a grouchy, anti-sex person just in case they look Dona up in too much detail.

The bottle says this product is paraben-free, "natural," and free of petroleum derivatives. Wonderful! It's also "cruelty-free."

Ingredients: Purified water, Sodium C 14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Blue Lotus flower Goji berry, Coffee seed, Acai fruit, Noni fruit, Pomegranite fruit, Green tea leaf, Mangosteen extracts, Propanediol, Citric Acid, Benzyl alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

Since this contains glycerin and you'll be basically sitting in it naked, you might want to skip this is you know glycerin gives you issues with infections or irritation.

Special Features

This bubble bath, like the rest of the Dona products, claims to be infused with superfruits and aphrodisiacs. It definitely has a lot of fruit extracts in it. As for working as an aphrodisiac, well, I didn't get that effect on me. Then again, I'm not particularly turned on by taking a bubble bath, period. If you are, it wouldn't hurt to try this in an attempt to give yours a sexier edge.
Follow-up commentary
Still good stuff! I've got a lot left and I'm glad, cuz' I like it. Sometimes I burn incense when I use it so the bathroom smells like a flower shop from hell.
