Fun Floaters

These candles will add a classy touch of mood lighting to any sexy night. They're not too great for the bathtub because they are easily put out and can burn you. However, they make great decorations in glass bowls, or even in the pool!

extremely useful review
Floating candles are a fun way to add a bit of mood lighting to the bedroom, or to make a lovely addition to any room. These don't do very well in the bathtub (even though that's what they are designed for) because any movement will create a massive tidal wave that will either put out the candle or bring it dangerously close to skin and hair. They are best used when burned in a decorative glass bowl or container. I found that I like to use them in the pool.

Since it is currently too cold to swim, letting them float in the pool while we sit outside adds a nice little touch of ambiance. However, there are only 6 candles included in each set, so you'd have to buy more than one pack if you wanted to light up the whole pool. The sets come in multiple colors, but I chose yellow. The candles have a palm wax base. They are bigger than I thought they would be when I ordered them, which was a pleasant surprise. They measure about 2 inches across, and are supposed to burn for about 2 hours. In reality, not all of them make it that long, but 2 out of my six made it past the two hour mark. They stopped looking like hearts about 30 minutes after I lit them.

The package says to keep the candle wicks trimmed to about 1/4 inch, but I never trimmed mine and they burned just fine. Because they float, the wicks should not reach the bottom of the candle, or they will go out very quickly. One thing that I like about my candles is that they do not have a scent. I'm not a fan of scented candles, so I was a little worried about these.

I'm thinking about buying a few packages of these and lighting the pool with them during our next game night with friends. It will add a classy touch to the backyard, and distract people from the mess when they walk through our house!
Follow-up commentary
While I still like this product, I don't have it anymore because I used up all of the candles months ago. They lasted for 2-3 uses each, and I really did enjoy them. I lit them and floated them in glass bowls around our bedroom for some mood lighting. The man loved it, because he's always complaining about how our bedroom lights give him migraines. I would totally buy these again, but I'd love to find them in a larger package, with maybe 20+ hearts?

Very nice review, this definitely helped a lot! You've gotten me interested in trying some floating candles out myself!

You should! They're a great romantic touch that won't put a hole in your wallet....unless you leave the wallet on top of one that's burning. Then they will.

Great review Do you happen to know what kind of wax these are made out of, and if they are good for use on the skin?

Thanks for pointing this out about the tub. I had read a past review that recomended using them in the tub. If they go out easy they would definintely not be good for the tub.
