I LOVE this toy. Yes its big, funny looking, not nearly as cute as the other stimulators on the market, and far too loud; but I love my Hitachi Magic Wand.
The Hitachi Magic Wand is actually a personal massager, but it makes me scream in ecstasy when used as my personal clit stimulator. It has a soft, smooth head that feels great when held against my clit. It has two speeds (low and hi), which I refer to as work-me-up speed and make-me-explode speed.
To make self pleasuring even more versatile, I enjoy switching out some of the many attachments that are made specifically for the Magic Wand. The attachments fit onto the head of the wand, thus transforming it for other uses. Silicone head attachments are available to make the Hitachi safer for regular use in sensitive places. It can also be used as a g-spot stimulator by buying the proper attachment. This toy is quite a bit cheaper than many of the vibrators on the market, yet it delivers an intensity that few competitors can match.
When I'm alone and I want to get off really hard & fast (without waiting forever on some cute little clit vibrator), I pull this baby out. It does the job oh so well. The vibration from this toy offers strong, powerful stimulation; just what my clit hungers for when I don't have a special lady around to help me reach that peak.
In addition to its somewhat bulky appearance, the Magic Wand does have a few drawbacks. It is corded so it must be plugged into an outlet. I have had both, and they are really both very good toys. The main difference really is that the Acuvibe is rechargeable and can be used cordless, while the Hitachi must plug in to work. Personally, I think that the Hitachi is slightly stronger, and it has definitely outlasted my Acuvibes - I have had two, and they both broke down after about six months or so.

Recently I've sold my Hitachi to a friend, and I've been on the market for a new clit vibe. I'm one of those girls who has a "clit-o-steel&quo t;, so I can't really get off unless I have something powerful on my clit. I bought a LAYAspot by FunFactory, thinking it would be a nice, powerful bullet to use when I'm with my partner, and I realized that it barely even packs a punch!
I guess I'm being a bit picky. I don't want something that's as strong as the Hitachi's HIGH setting, but something kind of inbetween the two, one that has a few nice, strong modes.

This is by far the best purchase I've made. My wife has a tough time reaching orgasm and needs the intense vibrations for her to climax.
