Glow-rious glistening body lotion - body moisturizer by Cake Beauty - review by bluekaren

Want to add a little shimmer to your skin? This lotion hydrates skin while leaving the slightest bit of golden shine. It makes me think of a bronzer that leaves skin feeling soft. I think it is pretty fantastic. I am very light skinned and this creme leaves a little shimmer everywhere I apply it. This lotion can be applied on shoulders, arms, legs, basically every bit that is exposed. It is definitely more "Greek God" bronze than "Glitter Girl". It is a more subtle glow. The formula for this lotion includes vitamins, butters, and oils to help moisturize the skin. It also contains Sheer Gold Mica to help give the skin a light sheen of gold.

This lotion does not leave a greasy feeling. It just leaves soft shimmery skin wherever it is applied. It absorbs into the skin very easily. The texture is thick. In fact, I needed to squeeze the bottle and shake the lotion out. I think this is a good thing since the last thing you want is shimmer all over your clothes. It has a light beige color to it. It is not runny at all.



You can't see the flakes of mica in the lotion until you spread it out over your skin. Water takes it off very easily, so you may need to reapply it. I had some lotion on my hands and now I can see the faintest shimmer on my keyboard from typing. Since it washes away with water so easily, I have no fear of getting a bit of shimmer from my skin to my clothes.

This lotion smells like Pina Colada mixed with hand lotion. The scent is like vanilla pineapple. It leaves a faint smell. It is a bit unpleasant when I put my nose right up to it, but not overwhelming at a few inches distance. For that reason, I would not use this for a face cream, but on the neck and shoulders it smells good. This lotion doesn't leave the skin tasting bad like some perfumes often do. I didn't really get any taste from it when I licked the skin where I applied it.

This lotion will shimmer the skin for a few hours. I didn't like having it on the pads of my fingers and palms knowing that a hint of shimmer will be left on everything I touch. To keep a good shimmer going I recommend applying this every 2 hours, since it doesn't leave a greasy feeling and absorbs so nicely into the skin.

The package for this lotion was a beautiful golden colored box, making it great for gift-giving.

I really loved the way this lotion looked on my skin. I don't think I will wear it everyday, but I think it adds a lot to one of my best features - my shoulders.

The nice thing is that it is not a bronzer, so i can apply it wherever I want to my skin to glow without having to worry about awkward lines from where the lotion stopped. I am a low-key kind of dresser, I don't like lots of blingy stuff when I go out. This lotion adds just the right amount of "Look at Me" without being too obvious.
