Great Candle, Could use some tweaking
Overall, its a nice massage oil/candle. I would recommend it if that is what you are aiming for. If you want more for your money or for a "second use" decor item, I would look elsewhere. Would make a great gift for anyone and discreet packaging.Published: February 5, 2012

I have to be honest. When I first seen this, I thought it was cute, but a total waste of money. At $22 a pop, I was reluctant to purchase it (for only just under 2 ounces of actual candle). I did some research on the reviews and watched a few video reviews. After seeing one of the video reviews, I found that I HAD to have it! The determining factor for my decision was because the video review led me to believe that the "silicone holder" was pliable and able to bend. I thought that was pretty cool. Because they were pretty cute, I actually wanted to get a few of these too.
So, I ordered just one, to get a feel for it. When I received it, the product was rather cold from sitting on the truck. I wasn't thrilled with how hard the container was. Maybe I'm just weird about stuff like this, but I was pretty upset that it didn't have more "give to it" like the video review showed. So I figured I would let it warm up a bit before totally writing it off.
The package only refers to the materials of the candle itself, so I cannot say for sure what type of material the holder is, but it certainly wasn't "warming up enough" to be bendable or even move much at all on the sides. I decided to "get over it" and move on to the candle. Just to feel the candle itself, without warming it up, its very slick (not greasy, but pretty nice actually). You can feel the oil on your finger tips when you run it across the top. I followed the directions, caring for the wick and such, and let it warm up. The candle oil/wax was pretty warm, but nothing that would "hurt" for most. It soaks in pretty nicely and has a roughly estimated 10 hours burn time. I found that a very little of this oil is all it took for a decent massage. So, I can say that the candle will last quite a while, but I'd still prefer a little more inside them myself. This candle is VERY light weight. Was not as heavy as I was expecting at all. If you tap the container, it does sound like plastic, so the quality for me, didn't seem as high as I would have preferred.
As for me, some of my "tweaks" that I would suggest is that the container be more of a silicone or pliable material, more candle oil/wax inside it and it would be GREAT to have a sampler pack with this, so that you can reuse the candle holders! I think the design of these are super cute and I would love to have a set with a sampler that I could purchase when I needed to refill. Ah, but that is for the company's website! (If anyone else thinks this would be a great idea, hint hint hint-go write them.)
Otherwise, I found that I liked the candle wax/oil, but wasn't thrilled with the holder material. I would feel comfortable gifting this to others at a bridal shower or even for a Mothers Day, Valentines Day or Birthday gift.

I've heard quite a few say that its not "The candle holder" they're after, its the candle. I decided to just get over the quality of the holder and use the candle as is. I love the candle wax/oil itself, so that was a huge plus. After the candle is gone, I have decided to use this as a paint holder for my daughters arts and crafts box. I figure that she can drizzle the paints from these and make some cute crafts or wall designs! If there is a way, I will find it! Anything to re-purpose an item!

My significant other and I have been together over 5 years. He's been away for a week and a half and coming home tonight. I would love to do something special as one of the things I want to do this year is have a better relationship.
We don't really have time alone and this has made our romantic time pretty non existent. Of course the relationship is affected because even though we are happy, we get along, we like each other, we are missing that spark. We are missing that extra happiness and closeness that comes from having a fulfilling sex life.
I am looking for ideas, nothing to out of the box or kinky, just something romantic and fun. -

How about a nice dinner followed by a nice hot shower together (bath if your tub i big enough. Then a full body massage to get things started.

Comparison between Bwarm candle and Jimmyjane Afterglow

I was curious which one people prefer. I'm leaning toward the Bwarm candle because of the design shape, but the Afterglow looks tempting because of the brush.

Just the smell of the bourbon sends chills down my spine. We love this candle so much I really should write a review. Since I haven't yet I'll tell you the brush is cute but I don't find it very useful except to tickle. The oil from the candle is not really slick but soft and silky. Sounds strange but for me that's better. I don't like to slip off the skin when giving a massage. I light the candle for about 45min and just pour on once it cools for a few mins. You really don't need too much to cover the entire body and it leaves the skin soft not oily. The candle is simple and pretty as would be expected from Jimmyjane.

I've only tried the Bwarm, but both my boyfriend and I love it. We got the fig scent, and it's the loveliest scent of candle or massage oil I have ever experienced. The shape of the candle holder is great for pouring the oil with no spills, but some leftover wax will dry on the pouring "spout". This does melt off the next time you use the candle, but it can look "messy". It's very nice and light, not oily at all. I haven't tried the Jimmyjane Afterglow, but the Bwarm has been awesome and I don't think you would regret purchasing it.

Thanks for the bit of info on the material of the holder. I was curious though, what does it smell like and feel like on? Does it leave an icky residue that needs washing off and does it create enough slip for a good back massage? I do think that's a lot of money for such a tiny bit of stuff. I really don't understand WHAT you're paying for? Very overpriced it seems. However, I was really fond of Shunga's massage candle so I'm not sure if I should stick with it since it's amazing and you get A TON more or if this stuff is so out of this world good that it's worth $22 for 2 ounces. Lol. Hard decision! Thanks for the info though

Corabell, sorry about the lack of description with the scents. I realized I hadn't included that into the review until after I submitted it and I wasn't quite sure how to change it once it went in lol.
I ordered the Fig Leaf scent. It is VERY strong. Its somewhat of a musky, woody scent. Its not flowery or fruity or anything, its more of a ....hmm...hard to explain really. It definitely wasn't anything that I was thinking it would be. It does have a familiar scent to it, though I cannot place it. Its not "horrible" or stinky, but it does have a very distinct smell. I could definitely smell it through the box though. I would recommend anyone that is scent "sensitive", to maybe get a different candle. If you prefer the stronger scents, then this is for you.
Its a pretty silky feel (the wax/oil). It was rather nice. It wasn't greasy or anything. It didn't get "tacky" either. It rubs in pretty nicely. I want to say that a quarter sized droplet lasted for a good 15 minute massage and covered a good portion of my neck, shoulders and upper back.
Kendra, I know what you mean about the pricing. Im all about "more bang for my buck" and I have to hit up the sales when they come. The only reason that I ordered this one was because I was trying to make the $150 mark for my 30% off total order deal. Otherwise, to be honest, I was happy with what was already in my cart before I put this one in. I ordered it out of sheer curiosity and figured that it was worth a shot anyhow.
