Use

These two little mitts can make any cold night a little bit warmer. Anyone can enjoy the amazing chemical reaction that takes place inside these mitts and it could even make for a great stocking stuffer!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

These two mitts are made from Vinyl and are Phthalates free. They are very smooth and can become burning hot after first snapping the metal piece in the middle. If it becomes too hot for skin contact, surround it with a cloth to keep from burning the skin. Usually the mitts will start cooling down after about 2 minutes. These will stay warm for approximately 1 and a half hours before becoming useless. However, this is no problem because you just boil them and they are as good as new!

Taste / Aroma

Don't try to bite these mitts because I highly doubt you will like what's inside. When broken open, I get a very strong smell of vinegar and salt. If they are broken open, these mitts become useless. Fortunately, they are difficult to break, unless you get them stuck on the bottom of a pan when boiling.

Performance

As I stated before these mitts stay warm for about 1.5 hours. The correct way to boil these after they become hard and cool is as follows:

1. Fill a pot or pan with water enough so that the mitt will not touch the bottom.
2. Place a rag and the mitts in the water, be sure to place the rag between the mitts and the bottom of the pan or pot.
3. Turn the stove on to a comfortable boiling temperature.
4. Boil for approximately 5 minutes and then remove from the boiling water, be sure not to burn yourself or pierce the vinyl when doing so.
5. Let mitts cool before using them again.

These things still come in handy every once in a while. The only down side is they harden a bit quicker now then when I first used them. They are reusable but I wonder for how long exactly?
