Plane friendly travel kit - bath and shower gel by Cake Beauty - review by Kate

Cake's plane friendly travel kit comes with 5, 2.2 oz bottles: 1 hand lotion, 2 body lotions and 2 bubble baths/shower gels. Milk Made velveteen hand cream, Desserted Island supreme body mousse, It's A Slice supreme body mousse, Desserted Island rich bath and shower froth and It's A Slice rich bath and shower froth. This kit would make a great gift, it's also a great way to try many of Cake's products and then decide what full size products to purchase.

The lotions are all fairly thin without being runny. They absorb nicely, leaving skin velvety smooth and soft to the touch. They don't feel sticky or greasy, just silky smooth.

The bath and shower froths aren't thin and watery, they are slightly thicker but I would recommend storing the bottles upright because if the cap isn't on tight enough I could see that they would easily leak and make a mess! The shower froths glide on smoothly when used as a shower gel and lather up nicely, when used bubble bath they suds up decently. After using them my skin didn't feel dried out like some harsh body washes have left me feeling in the past but there wasn't any noticeable softness left by these. The shower froths didn't leave my skin feeling noticeably moisturized so that's when the lotions came in handy!

Both the lotions and the shower froths are slightly tinted but contain no glitter and the color isn't noticeable on your skin, they go on clear.

None of these are edible despite how delicious they all smell. Milk Made smells like marshmallows and vanilla, It's A Slice smells like oranges and vanilla, just like a creamsicle. Desserted Island smells like vanilla and coconut...tropical heaven in a bottle! All of these are lightly scented but the scent of the lotions seemed to last throughout the day and I had trouble picking a favorite.

The lotions absorbed pretty fast, I didn't use much and it made my skin silky smooth. I can see the bottles of lotion lasting awhile, I actually already owned a tube of Milk Made and I keep it in my purse to keep my skin nice and moisturized during the cold winter weather.

The shower froths don't lather up great but they provide just an okay lather when used as a shower gel. When used as a bubble bath they foam up quickly although I did need more than the usual bubble bath that I use. For one use I used approximately 1/4 of the bottle and it only produced a medium amount of bubbles that lasted me about 20 minutes. If you want a lot of bubbles in your bath you will probably need to use a decent amount of the bath froth. Although this bubble bath didn't produce as many bubbles or last as long as other bubble baths I've used, I loved that because by the time I was washed up I didn't need to rinse the tub because there wasn't a ton of left over suds. Same as with the lotions, the bath froths are lightly scented and although I have had trouble with scented products bothering my sensitive skin before, I had no problem with these irritating my skin and it didn't seem to leave my skin dried out either.

I love the packaging for this kit! It comes in a clear plastic pouch that zips shut and can be reused for other toiletries. I'm probably going to use this to hold my makeup when I travel after I've used the contents of this kit up. The zippered pouch has a cardboard insert with brief descriptions of each product and the ingredients that each contains. The plastic bottles all have caps with a piece to push down to open the cap and dispense the product, the caps fasten on fairly tight so leaking shouldn't be a problem. The bottle's can be opened with one hand, they're very easy to open. This kit's packaging is very cute and of course perfect for travelling! Every product in this kit does contain glycerin but they are all paraben free.

Coconut oil is used to nourish, smooth and heal dry skin. Macadamia oil conditions and protects dry skin. Vitamin E is rich is anti-oxidants and helps to repair skin damage. Sunflower seed oil is a rich source of Omega 6 essential fatty acids to help heal damaged skin. Aloe is a natural moisturizes that heals and smooths skin. All of these are ingredients found in the products in this Cake set so it's no surprise how soft it leaves your skin!

Cake's plane friendly travel kit is free of triclosan and it's also paraben free. Containing vitamin e these products moisturize nicely! The packaging is reusable, it's a convenient and decent sized pouch that you can easily find a new use for once the products run out and it is recyclable.

I do prefer lots of bubbles in my bubble baths even though it usually means lots of leftover suds to rinse out of the tub. Since it did take quite a bit of this size bottle to get just a medium amount of bubbles, I think I'll stick to using the froth as a shower gel even though the lather isn't that great it seems that I'll get more use out of it that way.

The lotions were the real hit of this kit for me! Once they run out, I'll just have to settle on a favorite scent to purchase in the full size. That'll be the hardest part...picking a scent. The scents were all sweet and light, not overpowering at all, just delicious. The lotions kept my skin moisturized and velvety smooth. Everything smells good enough to eat but nothing in this kit is edible so you can only have your cake, not eat it too!
