I consider myself a Power Queen. I normally need LOTS of power to orgasm, at least a four or five vroom vibrator. After hearing everyone rave about the power of the Hitachi, I decided to give it a try. Sure, it’s really powerful. The low setting is like a regular vibrator on acid! However, I found it to be too loud, too strong, and too big of a vibrator for me to want to use religiously. As my title says, after using the Hitachi for a while, I felt like my whole vagina was going to fall off! Playing with the Hitachi has made me discover that I prefer strong vibrators that are smaller so I can pinpoint stimulation.



The Hitachi is a great wand for massage, and if you please a ‘down there’ massager. It is suitable for beginners to advanced users. The great thing about the Hitachi is if you don’t like it ‘down there’ you can still use it as a massager for your body. With a lot of sex toys, if you don’t like it doesn’t get used. But, the Hitachi has more than one use making this a great buy for most people. Plus, even at its $55 dollar price, the Hitachi is designed to last many years, giving you more bang for your buck. Even though I didn’t fall in love with the magi of the Hitachi, I’m glad I tried it out.

The Hitachi is made out of plastic, which rates an 8 out of 10 on Eden Fantasy’s Safety Scale. It is fairly safe to use and is hypoallergenic and latex free. The tennis ball top is fairly squishy and does bend a little bit. The rest of the handle is hard plastic with no give. Make sure you use a lubricant with the Hitachi as there is some drag to it. There is no noticeable seam on the massager head. The Hitachi has no smell and no texture. The head is plain smooth. It doesn’t attract any lint or hair.

The Hitachi is a pretty big boy! It is 12 inches in length. It has a circumference of 6 ¾” and a diameter of 2 3/8”. It is pretty heavy at 1.2 pounds. A wand massager is suitable for any user.



The tennis ball top is pretty big. If you wrap measuring tape around it, it’s 8 inches around. The head is fairly large. If you’re like me and like a smaller vibrator with strong vibrations, the Hitachi won’t work well for you. The big tennis ball was just too much for my vagina. You can’t really pinpoint vibrations and your whole vagina is vibrating like crazy. I tried to center the head, but it is too big to pinpoint pressure.



If you’re looking for a small massager, this is definitely not for you. Even though I knew it was huge, it was still way too big for me. The Hitachi is suitable for any user regardless of experience. Since it’s bigger, it’s a little harder to hide. This wouldn’t be a vibrator that I’d travel with. It’s not discreet. However, since it is the famous Hitachi massager not everyone will think ‘oh that’s a sex toy’ when they see it.

The Hitach is powered by an electric cord. Some people may not like this. I personally LOVE this feature because I don’t have to ever worry about batteries. I don’t have to go hunting them down taking them out of other vibrators (and my remote controls). The cord is really long. It measures approximately 72.5 inches, a little over 6 feet long! Even if your outlet is far, you should reach it just fine. I like this feature and will hunt for more toys that use an electric outlet. However, your electric bill might increase depending on how many times you use the Hitachi. Just to note, the Hitachi is not waterproof because it uses an electric cord.



Once you plug in the Hitachi, there is a switch in the middle of the massager. There are only two settings: low and high. I really wish there were more options. The low setting is really powerful even for me! The high setting is like an earthquake in your pants. If there were more settings, I would definitely like it better.

The informational brochure inside gives some basic safety instructions. The maximum operation time is 25 minutes. I did notice after about ten minutes the head of the Hitachi got really warm. It does tend to get hot fairly fast. There are some basic warnings like don’t use around water, or on swollen or inflamed body parts, etc.

I would definitely give the Hitachi 5 vrooms. It is probably one of the most powerful vibrators out there. It is also fairly loud. This is another vibrator that I am hesitant to use because it is soooo loud! I’m really scared my neighbors will hear this thing through the walls! The first time I used it, after about ten minutes someone came and knocked at my door. I was SUPER freaked out and dropped my Hitachi on the floor. I felt so guilty. I am so paranoid I thought one of my neighbors heard it and came to tell me to turn it off or something. Well, it turned out to be a guy asking for signatures door to door. I was so turned off by the thought though that I didn’t go back to it.

Take great care when cleaning the Hitachi. I recommend that you use a wipe on the head of the toy. You don’t want to get any water in it. I store my Hitachi in the box it came with. Since the head is plastic, you can use a silicone or water based lubricant.

This will be one of the first times I say ‘hey that package is actually discreet’! Since the Hitachi is intended for overall body massage, no one will think it’s a sex toy (unless they are a fellow Edenite!). The Hitachi came in cardboard box with pictures of it in action.



Inside, you have your Hitachi, a brochure on dos and don’ts, and a limited warranty flier. The warranty covers a 12-month period. It’s for if the Hitachi breaks due to a mechanical error (that you didn’t cause). This is really nice so you don’t have to worry about it malfunctioning. I always love warranties on products. Make sure you save all the inside stuff and the box in case yours breaks.

I'm rating the Hitachi three stars out of five. It's a great vibrator, but I want something that's powerful and small. Also, it would have been nice if this came with attachments. The Hitachi is another vibrator that I was so sure I was going to love. I was so sad when I didn't like it. Oh well. You win some you lose some.
