This white porcelain-encased, scented soy-based candle can be used to set the mood and deliver a massage. The wax melts at a temperature low enough to not burn your skin and also works great as a massage oil and skin moisturizer. And I love how my "Ginger + Date" candle smells.

The instructions say that each candle can burn up to 72 hours and that you should start the massage with only a small amount, about the size of a quarter. It is true that a little goes a long way. Maximize burn time by keeping the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch, and wait to use the melted wax until the candle's surface is completely liquid so that it wears down evenly.

In fact, I love very detail about this candle, from its thoughtful porcelain spout to its expensive-smelling wax emollients with soy and shea butter. It's well-designed and well-presented. The scent smells unique and upscale, not at all cheap like the smells of typical massage candles. In fact, I would be tempted to use this candle as a real candle on my coffee table. The white porcelain container is simple and elegant and comes with a very useful lid with the JimmyJane logo.

Seriously, JimmyJane is my new favorite erotic brand! Their blindfold is so luxe, thoughtful and versatile just like this massage candle. I want this affordable massage aid and its cousin, this set of massage balls.

The melted wax feels warm, but not burning, when it hits your skin. Instead of hardening, it remains in liquid form and feels more like a light, absorbent oil. As you massage it in, it slowly absorbs into your skin and leaves it smelling like a warm and sweet almond cake.

There are lots of ingredients, many of them chemicals, but the first ones listed (and therefore the most abundant) are soy, shea butter, aloe vera, jojoba, and vitamin E. There's also "cognac white oil", cinnamon leaf oil, ginger oil, and clove leaf oil.

My "Ginger + Date" candle has a sultry and complex scent, with hints of jasmine, vanilla, and almond under spicier notes. It smells wonderful when it's absorbed into the skin, and seems rather gender-neutral with its blend of sweet and spicy scents that allows neither to dominate.

When the candle is burning, it will fill the room with its scent, which is great for setting the mood.

This candle is so well-designed it makes me happy to think that somebody put imagination into the crafting of this erotic accessory. It comes with a lid that very helpfully keeps dust from settling on the candle when it's not in use. The lid, as the instructions tell us, can also be used underneath the base of the candle container to keep it from transferring too much heat to the surface below. The white porcelain container even features a spout on one corner to help you pour only as much wax as you want on your partner. Genius!

The wax is more long-lasting than a cream and almost as long-lasting as an oil, so it will help you deliver the best massage possible. It doesn't feel like a light-weight moisturizer if you've used a lot on your skin, so if you don't like wearing rich, scented moisturizers, you might want to shower after heavy use.

Like all JimmyJane packaging it comes in a beautiful box with very informative instructions. You could put a simple boy on this elegant box and give it as a gift without extra wrapping. It's well-packed and padded to prevent breakage. You can keep the box for storage if you like.
