Hitachi Magic Wand ~ Powerhouse Orgasms

I really wasn't sure what to expect from The Hitachi Magic Wand but once I received it I was pleasantly surprised at how multi-functional it was. It felt great on my neck and shoulders and even better on my clit! I was a little blown away at the sensation.

Use

The Hitachi Magic Wand is more than just your average toy. This is the classic clitoral massager delivered to you at a gold standard. This toy has set the bar high for massagers of these types. With strong, steady vibrations, The Hitachi is wonderful for relaxing tired muscles or delivering those famous powerhouse orgasms that it's known for.

Use it alone or with a partner but you can't take it far due to the fact that it has to be plugged up in order to be used. The cord is 6 feet in length so you do have some room to move. Also keep in mind that with all that power brings volume. The Hitachi is fairly loud. Those with room mates, beware!

If you're worried about traveling with or leaving this toy out where others might see, no worries. It looks like a massager. It actually is a massager and it's as discreet as any sex toy could be.

Material / Texture

The Hitachi Magic Wand is plastic, the wand portion being more of a slick white plastic and the ball portion having a lightly textured, slightly raised plastic covering. There is no odor and no taste to any of The Hitachi's parts. It's also food-grade material, latex and phthalates free as well as being hypo-allergenic.
    • Heavy
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The Hitachi Magic Wand is heavy. The handle is about 9 inches long There is a 1 inch flexible blue arm that connects the handle and the head. The head is about 2 inches in length and has a circumference of almost 8 inches.

This is such a powerhouse of a toy that I wouldn't advise it to a beginner. However, those who have trouble orgasming will delight in the intense vibrations.

While I don't know that I'd leave The Hitachi sitting out, it is still a massager and doesn't look like your traditional vibrator so if someone did stumble upon it, it'd be ok. Just remember that it does say the words 'Hitachi Magic Wand' on the product.
    • Discreet look/design

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy has two levels of vibrations (low and high). Use the obviously marked switch to easily pick which level of vibration you'd like. Each level is a constant buzz and produces a deep, strong, heavy vibration. The vibrations from the Hitachi penetrate which make it an excellent massager as well as a sex toy.

While you mind night need to worry about hiding it, you might want to muffle it. The Hitachi is loud. Of course you can always say that you were giving yourself a massage, just make sure that you don't get any louder than the toy.
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings
    • Powerful

Care and Maintenance

Be very careful when you clean this toy. Use antibacterial soap and hot water, clean it with toy cleaner, or wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol. If you're using soap and water, just be extra careful so as not to get water where water shouldn't go because The Hitachi isn't waterproof!

I'm going to keep mine plugged in beside my nightstand and then slipped into my nightstand drawer! No one will ever notice a little part of the cord sticking out and my Hitachi will be readily available.

I'll also suggest Maximus as it's my favorite water based lube, although feel free to use your favorite brand of oil or silicone.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
Follow-up commentary
This vibrator is the KING of all vibrators. I will tell you that it's a little big and bulky at first, but stick with it and it will pay off. In multitudes of HUGE orgasms. If all else fails, or I need a quick 'get-me-off' - I go straight to The Big Boy and he gets the job done every single time.

I have tried to lay off of him a bit here lately though, so as not to De-sensitize my "hello kitty". Secretly, though ... I love him.

Thanks for the review. My wife doesn't really like it as a sex toy, but it did work great as a massager.

Not wireless is a con? I like that the wand can be more powerful than a battery-powered toy and not eat up batteries.

This works great with the Liberator Axis Hitachi, BTW! I just got mine Saturday and it works fabulously, the Liberator holds the Magic Wand for me! Yay, what a relief! I love that it plugs in. I never have to worry if it is going to last as long as I need it to.

Glad you are enjoying yours. Thanks for the review.

  • Good alternative to Hitachi?
    • I had a rechargeable mini fairy wand, but last week it ended up breaking, and now I'm desperately looking for a similar type wand massager. I've looked at a couple, but I'd really like some input on which massager people are recommending. Thanks!
    • I have 3 wand massagers that I use at times. There are things I love and hate about all of them. The hitachi is the most powerful one, but it is so loud! The Wahl 2 speed is also great. It is the quietest and I love how rumbly the vibes are! But none of the attachments are quite right for me. If I could only have one wand I would get Inspire. It has a button that you press and release when the power is at your desired strength. In stead of just 2 speeds like the hitachi or the wahl you have control over how much power you want to use. The Inspire has a detachable silicone head. My complaints are that it gets hot after about 20 minutes, at at the higher speeds it gets pretty loud. Your toy was rechargable, but the wands I listed all plug in and have more power. Good luck with your replacement!

Ooh, thanks! Yeah, the rechargeable wands tend to get really hot too, plus it would die after 20-30 minutes, so I needed to stay near an outlet at all times. Noise isn't really an issue for me (at least not right now). The one I had before had an adjustable wheel for vibration intensity, but to be honest, I always turned it all the way up and never changed it, so maybe I don't really need adjustable speeds.

I've never tried any of the detachable heads. Are they worth buying?

  • Will it be out of stock until the sale is over?
    • Ekk! It is out of stock again! I keep missing it. I finally have enough to buy it but I guess the discount made it sell like crazy. Does it typically not come back in until the sale is over?

Panicing a bit because I'm moving soon and will need to purchase it within the next week.
    • You can open a support ticket from your account dashboard to ask about it. If they know when it'll be coming in they'll be happy to tell you.

  • Strength
    • Are there any stronger vibrators out there?
    • Quote: Are there any stronger vibrators out there?
Probably not for less than fifty dollars. A friend of mine is saving for the Sybian or The Rock Box. I can't speak from experience about either of those vibrators though. However, if you want something similar to the Hitachi, I would suggest either The Wahl or a Fairy Wand. I own the Hitachi, Wahl, and Fairy Mini but highly suggest the Wahl. It is the most rumbly of the three and is nearly silent.

I think the Hitachi is the strongest vibe i know of.

  • Hitachi Wand Vs. Acyvube
    • Is the hitachi better than the acuvibe for anyone who has had the chance to try both? I'm under the impression that they are essentially the same thing but maybe I'm wrong...
    • I have had both, and they are really both very good toys. The main difference really is that the Acuvibe is rechargeable and can be used cordless, while the Hitachi must plug in to work. Personally, I think that the Hitachi is slightly stronger, and it has definitely outlasted my Acuvibes - I have had two, and they both broke down after about six months or so.

We are going on 3+ years on the acuvibe. The shell is starting to crack but it still functions great, I just wanted to know if we should switch when I do want to buy a new one. More powerful sounds good :)

  • The Size !!!!!!!
    • Does the size get in the way ??????? It's so BIGGGGGG........
    • In the way of what, exactly? It's not really a toy for couples play and actually it's not even designed for masturbation but has become the Holy Grail of vibrators through decades of word of mouth.
    • Quote: Does the size get in the way ??????? It's so BIGGGGGG........
It's really only meant for external use. So if you are talking about insertion it probably would be a bit big.

  • Universal
    • Is there a head set for universal attatchments anyone knows of?
    • There are a few. If you search the site you can find a couple.
    • Quote: Is there a head set for universal attatchments anyone knows of?
I don't know if I understand the question, but the attachment we bought for our Hitachi is a "universal" attachment that we bought from another store. It's too "floppy" for me, but is a nice g-spot attachment, or would be if it was a little stiffer!

  • Bullet Vibes that rival the Hitachi Magic Wand
    • Hello, everyone!

Recently I've sold my Hitachi to a friend, and I've been on the market for a new clit vibe. I'm one of those girls who has a "clit-o-steel&quo t;, so I can't really get off unless I have something powerful on my clit. I bought a LAYAspot by FunFactory, thinking it would be a nice, powerful bullet to use when I'm with my partner, and I realized that it barely even packs a punch!

I guess I'm being a bit picky. I don't want something that's as strong as the Hitachi's HIGH setting, but something kind of inbetween the two, one that has a few nice, strong modes.

I was looking at the more expensive clit vibes- JeJoue's MiMi and Lelo's Siri. Do you think that they would be strong enough? Do you recommend anything? Thanks guys!

U had the flexi anal rod prior to the Hitachi..It is strong as well, and it probably right between the hitachi hi and low... I actually prefer the two setting on Hitach..SHIT and OHH SHIT.. The flexi rod has about 4 if i'm not mistaken..Plus it is flexible as well.. Costs about 25.00

Its on a review of mine already..

  • Hitachi
    • This is by far the best purchase I've made. My wife has a tough time reaching orgasm and needs the intense vibrations for her to climax. The Hitachi far exceeds this task, she doesn't use any other toy now, always reaches for the Hitachi. Just need to get her the G-spot attachment and she is set up. Thanks again.
    • I completely agree. The Magic Wand is the best vibrator ever.

  • Have you ever used a wand?
    • HI I was wondering if you have ever used anything like the Fairy Wand? I have used the baby fairy wand but its tiny... the size of the larger ones kind of intimidate me ... what are your thoughts on them and should I get one?
    • I dislike most of them intensely. They're too strong, too big and they make my whole vulva - as well as my hands - feel numb.

      Many folks love them, though!
    • I used the Wanachi Mini, which I really liked. Unfortunately it fell apart, it seems mine wasn't the only one either. I did contact Pipedream though and they seem eager to correct this problem!
