This toy is a great solo vibe - not *so* great for use with a partner, though it is workable with some coordination. Fabulous for clitoral stimulation as well as the genital area in general. Depending on the pressure, there's nothing that DOESN'T feel good against this toy.

The texture adds stimulation because the tips/attachments are super flexible. This can be a good thing (when you actually want it to happen) or a bad thing (when you're trying to pinpoint a spot, and that pesky attachment keeps bending), but once you get used to it, it tends toward the former. Not porous, doesn't cause or hold odor, very easy to clean (though not sterilize) the attachment tips. The toy itself (body-wise) is strong and sturdy, and if you are like me - minimal to no hand-eye coordination, clumsy, bull in a china shop - and need something that can withstand your awesome powers of destruction, this is the toy for you. It is not fragile, it is not flimsy, and it can take a good beating.

One of the best parts of this toy is that it has so many options for attachments. There are multiple different sizes, shapes, textures, etc., and with the option of low or high speed vibration, it's almost impossible to want something you can't get from this toy. The shape of the body makes it easy to hold in a few different ways, including using the finger impressions to get a better grip on the front of it. It's not easy to hide, but it is VERY ridiculously quiet. If you have paper thin walls but still need a jackhammer to get your rocks off, be not afraid.

My only complaint about the shape is that I am one of those individuals that need vibrations the size of an earthquake to get to an orgasm, so the pinpoint tip worked most effectively for me. That being said, if you have a lot of lube (either natural or artificial) and *want* to use the small tip, it's sometimes difficult to keep it in place without it sliding away from where you want it. In the beginning stages of a self-love session this isn't a big deal, but when it happens right AS you're about to have an orgasm, it can make you want to cry. I maintain that this toy gets better and better with use and experience, and once you find the right way to hold it and adjust yourself, you get WAY way way more out of it.

Vibrations get channeled right through the tip, which you can change out to determine how widespread the vibrations actually get onto your body. I absolutely love the two speeds - I prefer starting with the lower one and shifting gears midway through. It adds an extra "oomph" that a lot of other toys don't, especially because the quality of the vibrations are so different. It's wicked easy to use - just slide the bar up a notch - and there's no fumbling with buttons or dials. On the high setting, the noise feels way louder than it is because of how strong the vibrations are, but my partner and I did a sound test where one of us stood in the kitchen and the other went into the bedroom with the door closed and used the toy (good way to spend quality time together, I promise you). You can hear a faint buzzing when it's on its highest setting *and* touching someone's body, but it's very, very faint. If the toy bends the wrong way and vibrates against itself (which seems to defy the laws of physics but happens from time to time), it *can* make a jarring, loud buzzing noise, but that is easily fixable and not permanent.

I use a wet paper towel and clean off the attachments when I'm done using them, and then wipe down the body of the toy (the part that doesn't touch anything) with some non-abrasive sterilizer. I store it next to my bed, just hanging out on the nightstand. It's discrete. I can't imagine that if someone looked at it for a little while they would still be mystified about its purpose, but the guy that came into my room yesterday to set up my internet likely did not get the hint. Hopefully, anyway.

I've had no issues using this toy with or without lube, though if you're not a person that naturally gets really wet on your own I would definitely recommend having some sort of lubing agent by your side, as this toy can get a little abrasive on bare, dry skin.

The toy was packaged in a box that indicated that it was a high-speed massager, but did not reference sex, sexuality, or really even humans. It was marked as a massager, nothing more, nothing less. Though there are no overt indications that it is a sex toy (or can be used as one), I would probably not choose it to package a gift to my mother in law. Maybe a friend with a good sense of humor.

I've always struggled with spending over $10 on a vibrator, because regardless of price, nothing outside of the Hitachi ever delivered the caliber of vibrations that I needed and wanted to get off. Though this was a (wonderful) gift from my partner and I technically spent no money on it, I definitely *would* buy it, either for myself or someone else. I'll admit, I put up some resistance when I first opened the wrapper on this gift and saw the box. It looks like something my dentist uses as a torture device when I go in for a cleaning.
