Honeybee, Honeybee, Burning Bright

Bright-burning and long lasting - they aren't very exciting, but the long burn time makes it worth it to throw in a pack with your order.

Pros
Long-lasting candles won't die in the middle of your evening. All-natural wax is nice too.
Cons
Scent is very light, the price seems a little high

extremely useful review
I love the smell of beeswax. I really should indulge myself in beeswax candles more often. I also love tea light candles. They're quick and can be easily moved and there's rarely any spilled wax to clean up – what's not to love? That is why I was very glad to review these wonderful Beeswax Tea Lights.

The pack of six candles came neatly packaged together. I was glad to see that the outer shell of the candles was clear, not opaque like most tea lights. The clear cover allows the light to scatter further once the candle burns down.

The scent was perfect, which is hardly surprising given that it occurs naturally in the wax: sweet and warm and just a bit spicy. The scent is very very light – I never could smell it in the room unless I was paying attention. Of course, my bedroom is fairly large; a smaller bedroom would naturally get a more concentrated smell.

To test the burn time, I lit three candles: one of the Beeswax Tea Lights, one unscented tea light from a local grocery store, and one from a package of tea lights picked up at the Swedish furniture store. After one hour, the wax in the grocery store candle had liquefied almost the whole way, the Swedish tea light had partially liquefied, and the beeswax tea light was just getting started. After two hours, both unscented tea lights had liquefied entirely, and the beeswax light had less than half the wax liquefied – clearly it would long outlast the other two. We had to go to bed at that point, but I think the results are clear.

While the candles were burning, I could detect the fragrance very lightly, but it wasn't at all strong. If I'd had any other scented candles, the beeswax fragrance would not have been detectable at all. Don't get these if you are looking for a strong scent.

All in all, I was very happy with the Beeswax Tea Lights. They'll be especially nice for long evenings in when I don't want to have to worry about replacing candles that have gone out. I don't know if I'll go to the trouble of buying them again, but if I'm shopping anyway and see them I'll probably throw a pack into the order.

Nice review. I am surprised at the price tag of basic tea lights, but I guess it's because beeswax is a specialty item...
Thanks for the helpful comparison testing!

I'm sure it's because of the beeswax :) It may help if you think of it as 12 tea lights, since the burn times are so long - but even then it's pricey!!
