I'll Stop the World and Melt with You...and Then Take a Shower

While Sensuous Beauty really created a delicious, truly edible body paint, I was disappointed that the texture and viscosity didn't lend itself to any sort of actual painting. The product is all natural and not tested on animals, which is a wonderful and rare feature in edible sensual items. I'm having fun using up this jar, but next time I might try one of the chocolate flavours and see if the "paint" performs better when it's in a darker hue.

Pros
Tastes like a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie in frosting form. Ingredients aren't scary.
Cons
Doesn't really act like a body paint but more like a body frosting. Can't really paint/draw with it

Use

I'll preface this review by stating I'm not normally the edibles-in-bed type. One time in college, a lovely boyfriend of mine handed me a bar of my favourite high-end chocolate and told me to lie down. He put a fluffy pillow beneath my head, instructing me to let each bite of the confection melt in my mouth while he proceeded to give me several mind-blowing orally-achieved orgasms.

I sort of think I blew my expectations out of proportion when I purchased this product. Either that or it's not that great, or I don't know the first thing about romance and body paints and sexytime edibles. Or all of the above.

This scrummy body "paint" (too melty and drippy to effectively paint) could be used to make fellatio more interesting, but I wouldn't suggest it for cunnilingus as it is a sugary product, and the little yeasties tend to love sugar + vag! It also has milk in it, and the macadamia nut has, well, nuts...so those with nut and/or dairy allergies should stay away.

I've laid my partner on his stomach and attempted to "draw" letters on his back and had him guess each letter to see what I was spelling. We've played that game with just our fingers before, but adding the body paint element to it really made it lots more fun and enticing.

Since it's a very light coloured product with a translucent effect as it melts, if you would like to see the drawings and words you "paint" on your partner's body, I suggest playing under a black light (very fun!). Otherwise, if you are darker-skinned, it might show up better and be a more interesting choice for you than the typical chocolate body paint.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of the white chocolate macadamia is almost like a container of frosting that's been stuck in the back of the fridge--really stiff and thick, but somehow the high sugar content and/or the manufacturing process (electric beater whipping air into it?) makes it almost fluffy at the same time. One swipe of the (hopefully clean, because this is a fairly unhygienic little pot) finger nabs just a small amount of the body paint. After contact with even a finger, body heat melts this stuff into liquid in an instant. Either that or I'm really hot.

After applying the gooey, creamy white stuff onto your lover's body, it gets sticky pretty quickly and stays that way unless one of you can lap it up as thoroughly as a food-driven dog--or a cat with a sandpaper-y tongue.

I suppose for something labelled "paint" I was thinking I'd receive a jar of deliciousness that wasn't stiff or gooey. Upon application, the paint starts to drip as it rapidly melts with body heat and begins to turn translucent. As it is, the paint is a creamy white in colour, so add in the lack of opacity and you get something that doesn't show up on many skin tones. I'm quite tan and my partner is quite fair, and it shows up on neither of us. I was hoping to paint words or simple designs (dirty doodling was what I had in mind, the kind of stuff you might have carved onto bathroom stalls in junior high). Alas--not with Sensuous Beauty's body paint.

Taste / Aroma

This stuff really shines in the taste department. I've gritted my teeth through a few "edible" sex-enhancing product experiences, but this body paint actually tastes delicious. That's probably because the ingredients are all pronounceable and it's actually crafted of real food, not chemicals mixed with sugar and flavouring.

It tastes like creamy white chocolate with macadamia nut and a hint of true vanilla. It's sweet like frosting, rich enough to coat the tongue, and smells sweet and nutty.

The ingredient list on the product info page is a little different from the list on the jar's label. The info page doesn't list sugar as an ingredient, but it's quite obvious from the taste (and the label) that it does indeed contain sugar. This is important because you definitely want to steer clear of sugar near the vagina!

The body paint contains white chocolate, sugar, palm kernel oil, cocoa butter, nonfat milk, cream, whey, soya lecithin, pure vanilla, organic canola oil and macadamia nut butter.

Honestly, it's absolutely yummy. My partner and I adore the cookie by the same name, and this would be a delicious spread in the vein of, say, Nutella (a hazelnut and chocolate spread similar to peanut butter but much more delicious and incidentally awesome for use during foreplay). I never thought I'd be saying that an edible sensual product would be yummy as an actual food product too. In fact, I think it would be better to eat than to play with...but that's my PMS talking!

Performance

It's a very small jar with only 1.25 ounces of product, but I haven't dipped too far into it yet and I've played with it a few times. It's so sweet that if you commit to using a lot of it in one session, you might end up with sugar shock! So I tend to use it sparingly.

Unless you're into some really weird sensation fetish, you will absolutely want to run to the shower to wash with soap and water after playing. I find that to be a necessary evil when using more decadent, rich edible play products. A quick rinse over the area doesn't seem to cut the stickiness; you really have to give yourself a good scrub down in my experience.

I loved the taste and the luxurious little glass jar. It feels great to hold in your hand, the label is elegant and tasteful, and the product looks pretty sitting on my nightstand (although, yes, it does say to refrigerate after opening, I haven't had any issues and don't really want cold body paint on me in the winter! While I don't suggest it, I feel the very high sugar content and the cool room I keep it in is enough to preserve the body paint).

I wasn't so hot on the performance aspect when it's actually in use. I was hoping to draw designs, dirty little pictures, discernible words of lust or love...but the texture simply didn't lend itself to that. Perhaps the product could be marketed as more of a body frosting rather than a paint? I think I would've still purchased it labelled as such, and been a bit less disappointed because my expectations wouldn't have been the same.

By the way, there is a fair amount of oil in this product, and oil breaks down condoms. So if you're using it for fellatio, you must be careful to wash off if you're going to use a condom afterwards for penetrative sex--you'll want to do that condom or not, due to the sugar content.

Packaging

The body paint comes in a cute, hefty little glass jar. The jar is clear with a black lid and red labelling. The overall appearance is classy and high-end. It definitely doesn't look out of place mixed in with all of my cosmetics and clutter on the dresser. It does say body paint, but I could comfortably leave this out with anyone around and not fear they'd even pick it up because it doesn't look "incriminating."

The ingredient list and instructions are clearly listed on the jar, along with a website, phone number, and a note saying the product is tested on people rather than animals--bonus in my book.

The jar's lid screws on very tightly, but as the product melts very quickly at body temperature, I'd proceed with caution if you plan to travel with this in tow.

Great descriptions! I might try it for the taste, but the texture and sticky mess would probably keep me from using much of it.

Great review and super helpful information about condom use with this product, I would never think of this! You should try out the Shunga body chocolate, I eat it like candy lol. : )

Miss Morphine, thank you and thanks for reading! It DOES taste awesome (think white chocolate Nutella!) but I am adverse to sticky melty goo in bed and all over me; it just icks me out.

Katelyn, thank you so much! I was just thinking about using it for fellatio and then thought, man, what if enough was leftover on the cock to cause the condom to break? No fun. I was thinking about Shunga, I LOVE their stuff, thanks for the tip!
