I'm Gonna Be Naughty This Year

The Naughty Secret Santa set gives you a good amount of product for the money. The tingle gel does tingle, even if it only lasts for about 5 minutes or so. The flavor is great, a nice sweet minty flavor. The scent of the gel is unfortunately not so great. The included vibrating ring is intended as a "free" bonus gift with the gel, so the packaging has absolutely no information about it. Overall, though, this is a decent set, especially for beginners.

extremely useful review
I ordered this set quite a while ago, sometime around Christmas. The idea of a peppermint flavored tingling gel sounded pretty interesting. I was debating over ordering this or the Valentine’s Day set, which includes a tingling strawberry gel. Eventually I decided I had enough fruity lubes and creams lying around and I went for this set.

Doc Johnson’s Naughty Secret Santa package includes a 2 oz jar of peppermint tingle gel and a vibrating jelly cock ring. Both pieces are wrapped in a cardboard sleeve that is designed to look like a cute little Christmas gift. The front of the box has “Tingle Gelé” in big green and red letters with a wrapped present displayed below it. The back of the box has a rolled paper image with a Jingle Bells-like rhyme and a short description of the set. The top of the box also features the rhyme. The bottom lists more important information, like the tingle gel’s ingredients and warnings to not use the gel on any lacerated skin and to discontinue use if the skin becomes swollen or inflamed. Unfortunately the package only mentions that there is a “vibrating surprise” inside. It does not list any information on the toy, such as expected battery life, the material used to make the ring, and any warnings. I will get into this information later in my review.

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Xanathan Gum, Carrageenan, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Menthoxypropanediol, Sodium Saccharin, Sodium, Hydroxide, Diazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Blue 1, Yellow 5.

The tingle gel comes packaged in a small plastic jar, similar to the jars body butter comes in. The jar measures approximately 3 inches across and 1 3/4 inches tall, so it’s a pretty good size. I can fit it into one hand pretty comfortably. Under the lid is a small cover that sticks onto the jar. It can be removed by pulling up the plastic tab on it. This cover can be kept in the jar or tossed, it doesn’t really matter. The jar has a sticker on the lid displaying the product name, as well as the ingredients list and some copyright information.

The gel itself is a nice minty green color. It has the same consistency as many thicker lubes and some hair gels. When I dab some onto my finger and hold my finger straight up, the gel does not instantly slide down my finger, it sticks there in a glob. This stuff is pretty easy to spread, though. Once it has been spread on skin, it begins to absorb. If it is licked off or left to be absorbed, it doesn’t leave any sticky residue on skin. It also does not leave any coloring on skin.

The scent is kind of funky, like stinky old food or something. It’s not very strong, thankfully. I can only smell it if I stick my nose right above the jar. The taste is sweet and minty and makes my tongue tingle a little. It is not overpowering at all. It’s lighter than the majority of mint flavored candies, yet it’s not so faint that it cannot be tasted. Within a few licks, most of the gel is removed from skin.

Since this is water-based, it can safely be used with any type of toy, including the vibrating jelly ring in the set. I do not recommend using this as a lube, though, because it contains glycerin, which can cause yeast infections in women. I do recommend avoiding the vaginal opening and the area around it when using this gel. To clean this off, simple soap and water will do the trick, as will a toy cleaning product or baby wipe. As far as spills go, this will clean off of fabrics with a little work. We accidentally spilled a big pile on our white carpeting. After washing the area with some laundry detergent to get most of the goop out, we rubbed the area with some Resolve carpet cleaner. We then left the area to air-dry. There is absolutely no difference in appearance to the carpeting now.

Now, on to the vibrating ring. It’s made of a jelly material, which is very stretchy and easy to care for. It comes in a sealed plastic bag in the bottom of the packaging, kind of tucked under some flaps of cardboard. The packaging really has no information on this piece whatsoever, other than a few mentions of a “vibrating surprise.” I don’t particularly care for this, since I’d like to know if the thing is waterproof or not and an estimation on battery life. The ring is compatible with both silicone and water based lubes.

Experience
The ring is clear with a little butterfly clit rubber on the top. It’s not very well put together. Mine has a few spots where the jelly looks a little messed up. Unstretched, the ring’s hole measures approximately one inch. It’s stretchy enough that I can comfortably get it over my hand and onto my wrist without it being too tight. So, really, this should fit any guy. In height, this measures just under 2 inches tall. The battery compartment is removable from the jelly sleeve. It measures 1 1/4 inches long and approximately 1/4 of an inch in diameter. One end has an on/off switch. Inside are three tiny watch batteries, though I cannot tell which ones. This ring is designed to be a throw away one, meaning you use it once or twice and toss it when the batteries are dead. We ran the ring for about 15 minutes and the batteries aren’t dead yet.

We didn’t get much enjoyment out of the ring. The on/off switch on the vibrating piece has small holes in the plastic. Liquids can get inside of the battery compartment very easily. During use, we got some liquid inside of the battery compartment, which I am unable to get out at all. Since I can’t properly clean this and I don’t feel I can trust it during sex, we’ve only used it once.
The ring is pretty average when compared to other throw-away rings, including Durex and Trojan. The vibrations are pretty weak. They are pretty quiet, though. I doubt this can be heard through blankets or anything. I do not feel the butterfly clit rubber really does anything. It’s just a small outline of a butterfly with a few tiny raised nubs. I couldn’t even really feel any of the nubs at all during use. I don’t feel the vibrations were strong enough to really get me off at all.

Cleaning up both pieces is easy. The tingle gel just washes off with soap and water. To clean the ring, just take the vibrating piece out of the sleeve and wash the sleeve with soap and warm water. It can either be left out to dry or dried with a towel. It does not collect lint. To clean the vibrating piece, rub it with a baby wipe or a toy wipe. Getting any water inside of the battery compartment will wreck it.

I wasn’t all terribly too impressed with the ring, though I did enjoy the tingle gel. It’s sweet and pretty tingly. I do wish that the tingling sensation lasted more than 5 minutes or so. Overall, this is a decent set for those looking to cheaply experiment with tingling lubes and vibrating rings. This would at least make a cute stocking stuffer for a partner.
Follow-up commentary
I still like this tingle gel. I've tried a few new flavored lubricants, but I still prefer this one, since it has a refreshing flavor and tingles. Some flavored lubes end up tasting pretty bitter, which leaves me pretty disappointed.

Great review, and thanks for including the carpet cleanup information! I wouldn't ask for someone to go out of their way to test how well it cleans up, but since you found out anyway I'm glad you shared

Thanks for the review. This set would probably be more interesting if they had powder or massage oil.
