I'm obsessed with it, but it's not the best.I'm obsessed with this at work. I love that I can play with it when I'm bored, and that I can mindlessly rub it on my lips without ending up with too much lip gloss everywhere. It's such a fun shape! However, the lip gloss isn't very high quality, it tastes bland, and it costs so much!
fun shape, lots of product, doubles as a toy!
not very good lip gloss, bland, expensive
This is lip gloss, so it's really only intended for one thing, and that's putting it on your lips to moisturize them! The EOS line doesn't have any colours, so it's mostly for moisturizing, a little bit of shine, and flavour. These have been very popular lately because they have a unique shape among lip glosses. Usually you have lip gloss in a stick, or a pan, but these are circles!
The lip gloss is very hard. When I first opened it, although I expected it to be hard -- in order to keep it's circular shape -- it still surprised me. When you put it on your lips, it doesn't feel like it's rubbing off at all, but instead like there's a thin layer going on top of your lips. It's possibly a slightly more greasy layer than other glosses. When you have it on your lips, they are slick. It doesn't feel like it soaks in, or moisturizes as much as other glosses, which is why it's not my favourite. I like super moisturizing gloss that also has a nice smell and doesn't stay on top of my lips. This balm doesn't really moisturize much or absorb at all, and it feels rather oily.
I got the honeydew, and it has a light, sweet honeydew scent, which is very nice. It doesn't have a very strong taste though, and I would definitely prefer something stronger. It tastes a lot like the stuff that's in it, which is kind of a generic lip gloss flavour.
It lasts a long time on the lips, as it's more sitting on top of them than anything. If you are eating or rubbing your lips, it will be all gone in a moment, though. The little tub lasts awhile too, as its hardness prevents you from using much at a time, and it is quite a lot of lip gloss. I love it; the shape is really fun, and I can rub it on my lips over and over without actually using any gloss. The circle shape feels nice. However, as a lip gloss? It's not my favourite. It doesn't do much to my lips, and it barely keeps them moisturized better than nothing at all. It also tastes rather...bland.
The packaging is the best part! It's a little circle! I was surprised to learn that it has a flat bit on the bottom, which is nice because it helps keep it standing up. That said...it still rolls around all over the place. It can be a pain in the butt when you lose it, but it's very fun when you are bored at work and need something to throw/roll around. In this sense, it is like a toy/lip gloss combo, and that appeals to me a lot. As a random sidenote, the material and shape would make, what I think, would be a very nice and discreet vibrator.
I guess the circle shape would be its special feature, and its claim to fame. I just wish EOS was as good at actually making products as it is at designing them.
I'm going to buy more, and teach myself how to juggle with them.
I'm super picky and obsessed with lip gloss, and this just wasn't my favourite consistency. I live in a dry place, and have dry lips. It's not moisturizing enough (or tasty enough!) for my tastes. I only really use it at work because of its packaging.
