I See What You're Going For, But No

This product had the potential to be completely awesome, but unfortunately doesn't quite live up. Instead of being something you can spray on, rub around, and kiss off; this ends up being something you can spray on and rub around, and then try to find something to get the color off. If you don't mind the extra color, it's not bad for massages.

Use

In theory, you can use this product to spray a number of cute designs onto you or your partner, and then turn into a massage, and then be kissed off. Unfortunately reality is far from theory on this one. You can spray it on and rub it around, but I would avoid getting this anywhere near your mouth. Or anything else that you don't want to see stained, as it will leave behind a mark wherever it goes.

I can see where the manufacturer was trying to go with this, but I think it's trying to do too many things at once. Had it just been a spray on massage oil or just a spray on edible paint, I think it could have done very well. But with it trying to do both (in any capacity), it really just makes it fail at both.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It sprays out of the can easily, but it is runny once on. Between the fingers it's not that bad, and actually feels rather nice. Definitely a bit oily, but not overly greasy. As a massage product, it's got a good consistency.

Taste / Aroma

This comes in 3 scents/flavors: mango, strawberry, and grape. I have the mango one, and it's definitely got a fruity scent to it, however it's also extremely artificial and fairly overpowering. When you first spray it it's at its strongest, wafting an artificial scent through the air. After a while on the skin you can still smell it, and it smells like the remnants of a "diet" candy or juice. Since it was supposed to be "kissable" I did taste it, as did my husband and a few of our friends. The result was a resounding "yuck" and a few numb tongues, so I would avoid getting this anywhere you may accidentally ingest it.

Performance

According to the directions, to use this you shake the contents, hold the can 3-4 inches from the skin surface and spray evenly. Spray over a stencil for a design or spray free hand to create your own messages. Gently massage oil into the skin until fully absorbed. Unfortunately, the only part of that that works at all is massaging the oil into the skin. As an actual massage aid, this has potential, but only if you don't mind the scent and the staining of the skin.

In this package, you get the can of oil, and three stencils. Well, more like 6 stencils, on three templates. Each template is about 4 1/2" x 2" and has two designs each on it. One features an X and an O, one features two different sized sets of lips, and one has two hearts; one a devil and one an angel.

I applied my stencil to my arm, held the can out, and sprayed. Due to the oily nature of this product, it got underneath the stencil before I could remove it, and I was never able to get any of the designs to clearly appear. The oil started to run in short order, so it was rubbed into my arm. Afterwards, my arm was left a slightly yellow color, like I had been drawing on it with a yellow highlighter and tried wiping it off. When I went to wipe off the stencil, the napkin also started to look like I had been wiping up after a yellow highlighter.

The instructions say that you can clean it up with soap and water, and I was able to get myself and the stencil cleaned off with that, although I had a bit of residual yellowing for a while. Extra scrubbing should be enough to get it off, but be very careful around clothing or any other cloth, as it might not come out of that as easily.

Packaging

There's nothing remotely discreet about the packaging. It's obviously a sexy graffiti kit. That being said though, it's not the tackiest thing out there either. The front shows the can of spray and the stencils, and says "sexy body graffiti" and the color and flavor. It also has warnings that the contents of the can are flammable and may explode under pressure. The back does have the same warnings, along with instructions to apply and remove in English, French, and Spanish.

The can holds 1.7 fluid ounces, and comes with a protective cap to keep it from accidentally spraying while in storage. It doesn't leak at all which is nice, and the nozzle does allow for a nice sized spray pattern. If you wanted to travel with it, it should be just fine.

While the actual packaging doesn't have any ingredients listed, the can lists them as ethylhexyl palmitate, c12-c15 alkyl benzoate, tridecyl trimellitate, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, tocopheryl acetate, tocopheryl, yellow (CI 47000), parfum/fragrance, limonene, linalool, benzyl benzoate, benzyl alcohol, geranoil, citronellol, eugenol and citral. The limonene can be a skin and respiratory irritant. Benzyl benzate, benzyl alcohol, eugenol, and citrol can be skin irritants, so if you have sensitive skin, I would avoid this despite most of the other ingredients being not bad for moisturizing.

Personal comments

I've got a bunch of pictures for you here that I didn't want to crowd the rest of the review with. Here we have everything that comes with the kit, me applying everything to my arm, and the aftermath.

Right after spraying:

Right after removing the stencil:

A few minutes later and now you can see it running:

Harder to see, but my arm is yellow. The yellow on the napkin doesn't show up as fluorescently as it does in real life.

Experience

This stuff in theory had the potential to be very awesome, but ended up being pretty much exactly the opposite. I really can see how this would have been awesome to be a sprayable massage oil, or a sprayable edible paint, but this seems to try and be the best of both worlds and ends up relegating itself to the worst of both in the process. Well, that's not entirely true. I did enjoy the feeling of the oil on my arm, but how much it stained my skin makes me not want to use it anywhere else. I'd be very interested in something that separates the two in the future, but this product was just a general fail.
