The Hitachi Magic Wand is promoted as a personal massager, but it also functions better as a clitoral stimulator. We initially made this purchase for the latter reasons, and it has not disappointed as a massager either.

As a massager it gives off deep strong vibrations that will help relieve those sore muscles.

As a clitoral vibrator, wow! This toy gives off the strongest vibrations that either of us have ever felt. So strong, in fact, that it needs to be plugged into a wall to be used. This toy has two "on" settings: Low and High. It is so strong that only the low setting needs to be used to orgasm. This is the only toy we own that can make me squirt from just clitoral stimulation, and is also great for forced orgasms, if your into that sort of thing. Hitachi also makes a set of accessories that go with them, although we have not tried them so we can't comment on them.

This toy is not only for females, but can be used for males as well. It gets my hubby off every time.

It is also not a beginners toy, but rather for someone who is experienced using vibrators, and knows that they like ultra strong vibrations.

The Hitachi is made of hypoallergenic and phthalates free plastic. The toy itself doesn't give off any smell. The ball at the end of the wand is not entirely smooth, unlike the handle of the toy, which is entirely smooth. The ball is fairly hard, and only has just a little bit of give to it. If your concerned at all about the texture or the firmness of the ball, Hitachi does make a couple of head covers that will fit over the ball.

One of the biggest pluses of this toy is that is looks like any other personal massager that you would buy at the store. Unless somebody who sees this knows truly what the Hitachi is good at, they will just think it is an ordinary back massager.

This toy is larger than any other vibrator we own, with the handle of it coming in close to 9" long, and the ball on top of it being another 2.5" in diameter. This makes the toy a bit difficult to store.

The cord of the toy is only 6 feet long. Which sometimes makes using this toy a pain, because it doesn't quite reach from the wall to the bed, so we always have an extension cord ready. A longer cord would have been great.

The layout of the toy is very simple. There is a switch in the middle of the handle with three setting OFF, LOW, and HIGH. The OFF setting is located in the middle with the LOW and HIGH settings on either side. The low setting will probably be more than enough for most users since it is extremely intense.

The Hitachi is electrically powered and does not need batteries, which is wonderful. If you've ever had a toy die mid-session because of dead batteries, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Hitachi does recommend that you not keep the massager on for more than 30 minutes at a time to prevent overheating. The toy itself does tend to get warm to the touch after about 5 minutes of usage, but nothing that will burn or be too hot to use.

The toy due to its intense vibrations is not quiet at all, and will be heard outside the room.

This toy can be easily cleaned up by just wiping it down with a damp cloth. Make sure that you have the vibrator unplugged before cleaning. Do NOT run water over it, otherwise you will damage the motor and have to purchase another.

This toy is just amazing. It always gets the job done, and does it in a mind blowing way. I am usually not a squirter, but can do so clitorally with this toy on the low setting.

It is also wonderful if you are into forced orgasm play, because this toy will make you orgasm even if you don't want to (but who doesn't). Although be forewarned, this toy can make you go numb because of its extremely strong vibrations. As a result, this is not your everyday type of vibrator. As it often leaves me a little sore, and makes it harder to orgasm the next day. I would not recommend this toy for a beginner because it is just that strong, and every other vibrator after would not offer the same kind of stimulation as the Hitachi.
