In a Word: Ordinary

Overall, I don't have a strong opinion about this product either way. I like it enough to use the rest of the bottle, but not to purchase it again. It's not that bad and it's not that great; it's just ordinary.

Use

DONA by JO is an aphrodisiac infused line consisting of 20 different bath and body products. The name originates from Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of sexuality and love. It may also interest you to learn that this product line was created for women by other women. It is intended to be a ritual, consisting of five steps: relax, cleanse, nourish, illuminate and engage. This Body Wash is part of step 2, the cleanse step.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I found the DONA Body Wash to be on the thinner side, about the same color and thickness of baby shampoo. Personally, I prefer more of a gel or a cream body wash. This product would work best with a sponge, since it would not stay in place if poured directly onto skin. It comes out of the bottle easily but has nothing more than a basically slippery feel when applied. This was a little disappointing to me as I was expecting something that felt a little more luxurious.

Taste / Aroma

Products from this line are infused with one of six proven aphrodisiacs. Please note for fragrance preference that Acai, Camu Camu, and Goji are types of berries, Lotus is a flower, and Mangosteen and Pomegranates are types of fruit. Also, expect the fragrances in the DONA product line to be on the lighter side, as the products are intended to be used together to creating a layering effect. I purchased this Body Wash in Acai. While the smell was wonderful, and just like an acai berry, I found the scent to be too light to use on its own without the other products I purchased. There is currently no taste added to these products.

Performance

I used two squirts of this DONA Body Wash on my shower pouf. I found that this amount was easily able to last throughout me cleansing my entire body. However, I did not find this product to have as rich a lather as I would have hoped. It does lather enough to get the job done, but it's not as creamy and bubbly on the skin as I prefer for my body washes to be. It does rinse off easily and cleanly without any feelings of residue. When I was finished, I did not feel that this product was particularly moisturizing. I was able to fix this by pairing it with the matching scented DONA Body Lotion. The fact that this product line has so many items in matching scents is wonderful, but I would still prefer a body wash that stands on its own without needing another product to back it up.

Packaging

DONA Body Wash comes in a 8.5 fl oz plastic bottle with a pump style top. The top does lock into place for travel. When you first receive this product, it should have a safety seal. Make sure not to use a product with this seal broken. The label on this product has a print of black lace over dark purple. The front of the bottle lists the product name, what the product is, which step in the ritual it is, the scent, and some of the eco-friendly bullet points (more on that later). The back of the bottle has brief instructions, the ingredients, and the product's official website. Please not this product does contain glycerin, which may be irritating to some. Here are all the details:

Directions: Apply and lather generously all over your body. Rinse and follow-up with your favorite DONA body lotion.

Personally, I found the information offered with this product to be very minimal. I had to go to various websites to research the product on my own. It would have been nice if the product came with a hang tag or fold out label with information on all the steps, the scents & actions of the various aphrodisiacs, and the eco-friendly qualities.

Experience

As I have already discussed most of the qualities of this product, I think the only thing I have left to talk about is whether or not it lived up to the claim of increasing sensuality by being aphrodisiac infused. Sadly, while the scent was quite pleasing, this did nothing extra for my partner and me. The Acai is meant to have stamina prolonging qualities, but we didn't notice any difference. I'd like to give this product the benefit of the doubt and say maybe with daily use there would be more results. However, since my partner and I really don't get a chance to take daily sensual baths together before having sex, this wouldn't really increase the product's usefulness for us.
Follow-up commentary
This sat around unused in a drawer for a while. Then when I came across it again, I figured I may as well use it up before spending money to buy new body wash. I still really like the scent, but the lather just isn't thick and rich enough for me. I really prefer a body wash that is moisturizing, which this is definitely not.

Thanks for the great review! The only Dona product I've tried that I actually liked was the linen spray, which made me consider trying more. Thanks for letting me know not to!

Thanks for the review, I got this in Camu Camu and it doesn't have a strong scent like I prefer my bath and body products to have.
