Interesting Spicy Pheromone Enhanced Body Mist

This scented body mist is infused with pheromones and white tea extract, with a spicy pomegranate-ginger scent. Will these pheromones attract a mate to your side or your bed? It has a spicy sweet scent which many may like on its own or mix with similar fragrances. The pheromones are purported to attract sexual partners. Although this has not been proven, the scent smells sweet, isn’t overwhelming, and gives a nice boost to evening or morning cleansing rituals.

Use

This product is meant for scenting the body and contains pheromones to, ostensibly, attract partners or cause partners to want to engage in sexual relations.

The bottle claims this mist should be used to “condition and fragrance…restores soft smooth sensually scented skin."

The Pomegranate Ginger scent is sweet and fruity, and most likely meant for use by women.

Some of the ingredients in this formulation are purported to cause sexual arousal in humans. However, these claims have not been substantiated by research.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The consistency of this product is similar to a regular water and alcohol based body mist. It is thin and sprays easily.

The product is not oily, greasy, tacky, sticky, thick or creamy. It has a viscosity similar to water.

The bottle says this is a non aerosol air free sprayer "with a special 360 degree multi-directional sprayer... it even sprays upside down." And indeed it does.
Mist

The product is light and rests easily on the skin without being greasy, heavy, or tacky at any time.
Body Mist on Skin
Here is the product on human skin. Due to very small droplets being dispersed, it can barely be seen and dries quickly, leaving behind the scent.

Refreshe Body Mist may have some mild moisturizing properties, but not much were noticed. As one would not spray the entire body with this product, or spray moisture depleted body parts such as the hands, it is difficult to tell if it works well as a moisturizer. The product is so thin that wide spread moisturizing would most likely be difficult to achieve from using this product.

However, the product did not dry out the skin in any way, and the reviewer did not notice any irritation or allergic concerns from the product.

The product is glycerin free, pthalate free, triclosan free and was not tested on animals. The bottle says to keep the product out of reach of children.

Taste / Aroma

Tasting this product is not recommended, due to the SD Alcohol 40, which can be toxic if ingested in large quantities.

The scent is said to be "Pomegranate Ginger." The scent reminded me of spiced pears and had a slight "baby powder" undertone to it. The scent was on the strong side. Copulandrone is known to have a rather unpleasant aroma on its own, so often it is accompanied by fairly strong scents to cover the pheromone's odor.

The product stays where it is sprayed and disperses its spicy scent for a moderate amount of time. The length of time the scent lasts is dependent on one's skin type, the amount of perspiration, and other factors.

Performance

Pheromone containing products are notoriously difficult to test properly. Sexual response and arousal vary widely even in the same person, and it is difficult to see if a single change in one's daily preparation ritual, such as wearing a pheromone containing product, will really have an effect on those one wishes to have relations with.

This product was tested in our home (without my partner knowing what the product was meant for) at least 7 or 8 times. More than half of the trials resulted in subsequent sexual activity, but as the trial couple has frequent activity anyway, there is no way to tell if the product increased sexual activity or attraction or not.

It smelled nice and blended well with the reviewer's own selected fragrance products. Comments on its moisturizing properties are described above.

The aroma is quite strong at first. One may wash the product off with soap and warm water if the product's aroma is too strong or not to one's liking.

Packaging

The body mist comes in a generous 8 ounce plastic bottle with an air free multi-directional sprayer. The sprayer works well, and the mist comes out in small micro droplets which disperse onto the skin lightly and easily.

At no time did the sprayer clog or disperse too much product at once.

The packaging is fairly discreet. It looks like a simple bottle of body mist. It does have the word "pheromones" written on it in several places, but nothing about the product belies a "sexual product." The label has a small picture of a split pomegranate on it, and it's a pretty earth toned label which should blend with any decor in the bedroom or bathroom.

The bottle is made of PETE plastic, which is recyclable in most areas.

Special Features

Here is a rundown of the ingredients in this body spray:

SD Alcohol 40-B, is a denatured alcohol, not meant for human internal consumption. It is an alternative to ethanol, which is sometimes consumed to produce drunkenness. “Specially Denatured Alcohol” is not meant to drink, although it is used used in everything from camp stove fuel, to inexpensive perfumes, to toothpastes and other pharmaceutical products. This product should not be taken internally. However, the small amounts sprayed on the skin should not cause problems, unless one is sensitive to the chemical.

Water (Eau), is self-explanatory. Water is the Universal Solvent and used in many cosmetic items.

Fragrance (Parfum), is simply a broad term to describe anything that scents the product. We are not given any more details for this product other than simply “Fragrance.”

Carnellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, is made from a non-oxidized tea leaf then turned into an extract. (Oxidized teas are known as black tea, Oolong tea etc.) This extract is purported to be an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties.

Copulandrone, and Copuline-alike, are substances which are difficult to get non-biased information on. They supposedly work similarly to aromatic chemicals the human body secretes when that body is interested or involved in sexual activities (notice the word “copula…” is similar to “copulation” a word for sexual intercourse) but there are no peer reviewed articles or studies on these substances.

Reconstituted Andronone is similar to the above substances, the word is similar to a word for one of the male hormones; Androgen. Again, no actual research on whether these substances work to attract sexual partners has proven they actually work.

Personal comments

This reviewer did want to mention a side effect, although I am not sure if this product or other pheromone containing products are the cause or not.

I found, while using this in the past, or using another pheromone containing product, that orgasm was easier to obtain. I have no idea if the product was the cause, as sexual response is quite unpredictable and varies from day to day. It seemed fairly consistent with nearly every use, and climax seemed to take longer (as is per usual for this reviewer) when the product wasn't used during sexual play.

Perhaps my expectations played into this, perhaps it was a placebo effect. I have no idea. However, I will continue to use the product, even though this is not usually the effect one expects while using pheromones. They are usually meant to attract a mate. As I have a fairly easily accessible partner, perhaps the product actually works in this way for me. I have no way to know for sure.
Follow-up commentary
Although the scent is a bit strong when first applied, I do still like this mist.

I swear it is easier to climax when I put this on a short while before we have sex. Is it the placebo effect? Did I climax easily the first time I used it: I expect to and so I do? Do the pheromones actually make climax easier? I can't answer that.

As for attracting a mate, it appears to not work quite that way. I've put it on after my evening bath, come into the bedroom or living room where My Man is, and... he falls asleep. I have also had it happen that he is as ready as I am and we have a great time. But, I don't think it does a whole lot for him. He thinks it "smells like coconut." OK. He's not crazy about coconut, but he doesn't seem to mind this. But, I don't think it actually does anything for his already usually high libido (interspersed with an occasional sleepy libido.) Shhh. He's asleep.

All in all, it smells nice, although strong when first sprayed and it seems to do me some good, so I'll continue using it even when I can't explain the effect.
