The low rumbling of the toy is absolutely amazing. Unlike a lot of other massager-type toys that can get high and buzzy, the Hitachi delivers super intense vibrations that always get me where I'm going (and get me there quick). If you ever are in a hurry to orgasm, this is the tool for you. I haven't exactly timed it, but I can generally come in under 5 minutes. The tennis ball-like head is good for getting vibrations everywhere, depending on how much pressure you apply. The head is a bit of a strange, textured material, but a little lube or a condom takes care of that.

My male partner also loves my Hitachi, he says they make a hand job out of this world! It makes a pretty legitimate back massager, too. (A fun, weird tip for those who get sinus congestion a lot: touch it to the tip of your nose or right under your eyes along your sinuses and it breaks everything up, getting it moving around and easier to blow.) I look forward to trying out some of the attachments that turn this massager into an insertable toy.

A word of caution: It IS extremely loud and big, so this is not a discreet toy. For those of you looking for something you can use with roommates, it's probably not this. The handle and head are about the length of my forearm, so shopping for a bag that would fit it was a bit of a challenge (though, now that hobo bags are in style, it wasn't THAT difficult). The jarring low/off/high switch is a bit annoying when you want to go from low to high, but that is not enough to deter me from enjoying it. This toy is an investment for your LIFE. I got mine three years ago and don't see it breaking down any time soon. I can't ever imagine getting sick of my Hitachi. Three years ago, and it was a bit of a pricey investment, but now there are much more expensive massagers that I've tried and nothing has really lived up to the beast that is the Hitachi.

Following up after some more frequent use than it has ever seen in the past... I've had mine for three years (and not used it all that often, one has to be in a certain mood for the Hitachi) but it's started to make a bit of an off-whine noise when I turn it on. It hasn't lost any of its oomf, but it definitely sounds different than when I first got it.
