It said "meet me half way"

Ehh, it's not the best stuff ever. I was highly impressed with my other EOS products, but this one was lacking a little. It's not as good as some of the other creams out there, but it is better than the cheap canned stuff. It works for some things but not others. It doesn't have a super girly scent. The packaging is discreet.

Use

Shaving. Everyone hates it, but everyone (for the most part) does it and deals with the horrible after effects. I know we all love a good case of itchy crotch from the razor burn, skin irritation, and ingrown hairs. I don't know about you, but it's my favorite thing in the world! There's nothing sexier than someone dropping their pants and revealing a neatly shaven fun area that looks like its caught a bad case of poison ivy. And who can't appreciate the hand down the pants itchiness that comes from that? It's so much fun in public settings!

This shave cream is supposed to prevent that. Unlike aerosol cans of shaving cream, this one is thick, rich, and much less frothy with means it coats the skin better. It can be used for just about any shaving you want. Intimate areas, underarms, arms, legs, face, and even for shaving heads. It's useful for anyone out there who has a battle with the razor and finds themselves left with battle wounds.

There's a bunch of stuff in here:

Water (Eau), Mineral Oil (Huile Minerale), Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Triethanolamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Petrolatum, Glucono Delta Lactone, Sodium Benzoate, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Carbomer, Fragrance (Parfum), Disodium EDTA, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propylene Glycol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional

It's not as natural as the other EOS products that have surpassed all of my dreams and expectations of them. There is the dreaded glycerin in here, but this stuff isn't lube . . . so it's no real bother. Next is dimethicone which is a silicone compound which helps to add a layer of protection to the skin. You'll find this as the main ingredient in scar creams. Petrolatum is in tons of lotions and is basically what petroleum jelly is made of. Shea butter is my FAVORITE shaving companion because it completely rids me of any razor burn and irritation afterwards. Oat is a superb ingredient that has magical moisturizing properties. Aloe helps to soothe irritated skin. It's not all bad!

If you have high sensitivities to skincare products you might want to try a patch test of this.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Creamy! Creamy! Creamy!

This stuff is thick and luxurious. Think of it as a whipped butter consistency. You know, the kind you get in those little packs when you go out for waffles or pancakes. It's not overly greasy or too thick, and truly is whipped! When I was examining this stuff I was trying to think about how to describe it because it's a little unusual. It seems like a thicker body butter that you'd find in a jar, but it's not as thick as some or as thin as others. Most of those creams have a oily or "wet" feel to them and are shiny. This one isn't like that. (I'm uploading a video soon to show you.)

When it goes on it does maintain that whipped texture and doesn't go on too thick. I'm used to using Coochy and Kama Sutra creams that go on pretty thick like conditioner and had expected this one to be a little thicker, almost like a paste, but it wasn't. It didn't stay in place very well if you're in the shower with your back turned to the water.

It does come in a great pump-top bottle, though. It makes application easy. Even though I love Coochy (I have the old click top bottle) it can be a pain in the ass to dispense.

Taste / Aroma

Again, this is really hard to describe, too. I got Island Blue because I don't like sweet/floral/melon scents, and I'm not gonna lie, because I'm a total fan of blue, it matches my bath water when I use the Kama Sutra Treasure of the Sea bath salts, and things with a "blue" scent make me feel warm and fuzzy.

The scent is . . . interesting. It's not too aquatic, not to islandy, not tropical, not too feminine. It doesn't smell like anything I've come across. It's a light and delicate scent that is only noticeable when dispensed and held up to the nose. The aroma is highly gender neutral, which I always appreciate. It's certainly a cooler scent than the other varieties may be. If you're looking for a scent that can be shared with someone, this or the unscented are probably your best bet. I found it pretty pleasing, but it was gone in a flash. Not an issue with me because I'm so silly over my Kama Sutra Ocean Blu body wash and would rather smell like that.

Performance

I hadn't shaved anything in a couple weeks (no one to impress . . .) so it was about time I get around to ladyscaping. I'm highly prone to razor burn because of my sensitive skin, so I'm really picky about what I use in my lady area. I thought this stuff was going to be amazing for that. Everything else I have by EOS is absolutely amazing in everything it does. I hopped in the shower and applied about three pumps to my lady area. Umm . . . do I need more? I felt like it immediately washed off because the creaminess disappeared. I let it sit down there for a little bit and it didn't feel like any of it was still there so I reached for the Coochy and put some of that on top of there for some insurance. There is a bit of a difference in how everything worked out with both of those than it does with Coochy alone, but I think lady areas may need something a little thicker for better protection. In other words, not totally great for that jazz.

Putting it on my legs had mixed results. Again, it didn't go on too thick. I tried to slowly spread it to see if I could get it thicker, but I found that it was just not going to cooperate. When frothed all up it doesn't do very much, it seems. You get a minimal foaminess which some may find as a negative aspect in a shaving cream because of the fear of missing patches of hair. It wasn't necessarily a problem for me because I'm pretty thorough. Even though I didn't find that it really coated my skin or went on thick like heavier creams, my legs were much smoother than normal. My normally dry and flaky skin was softer and much more moisturized. Because of that I think I may start using this stuff on my legs and save the Coochy for my Coochy.

Underarms are another huge hassle for me. They get even worse than my lady parts when I shave and I'm constantly itching and scratching. This stuff performed pretty well there. I'm not at all itchy which is a major surprise and much more than I can say about the Coochy and Kama Sutra shave cream.

Packaging

When it comes to packaging, this stuff certainly takes the cake. Coochy, Inttimo, and Kama Sutra Shave Cream all are quite suggestive. EOS is elegant and modern and won't raise a single eyebrow. It's also quite attractive in the shower. The pump makes it much more convenient to dispense with slippery shower hands unlike the old style of Coochy. It's totally discreet and user-friendly.

Personal comments

I'm slightly on the fence about this stuff. My feelings are totally neutral. It's not great for some things, but I don't really hate it. It's great at others, but I don't really like it. It's worth considering for your next shaving cream purchase because it may work differently for others. I don't hate it as much as I hate Kama Sutra. It doesn't perform quite as well as Coochy for some things. Nothing can match how I feel about Inttimo.

But this is half of the hassle of shaving: finding something that actually works.
Follow-up commentary
I was really skeptical about this stuff and didn't have too great of an experience with it the first time, and I know it's a little soon for a follow-up, but I have some information to add here.

Putting this on before I used the Coochy completely rid me of any razor burn at all anywhere. Coochy used to leave me with some mild itchiness and bumps, but with this stuff there was nothing at all!

My roommate has super dry and itchy skin on his face and has to shave every day to get rid of his crazy stubble. He used some of this and liked it. He said it did burn slightly and numb a little bit where he'd been scratching his face a whole lot but that his face felt wonderfully smooth afterwards and that he's going to give it a few more shots since he's not itchy or scratching himself raw anymore. If he actually takes the time to tell me he likes it it's really impressive.

You always have such pretty blue bath water I think that I may still try this one out just for the hell of it but at least I know ahead of time that I won't be wowed.
