Its OK

This product was not that exciting at all. It looks cool but just doesn't preform. The idea of all natural ingredients was nice, but the follow through on presentation of the product and functionality just wasn't there.

Use

This organic lip balm claims to be all natural without any fillers or chemicals. This lip balm comes in a round container that twists off to reveal the round "chunk" of balm. There is approximately 0.25 fl.oz. The total weight of the balm is 1.4 ounces. The container for the balm is really different and kind of awkward to handle. There is a small notch in one of the sides of the ball for your thumb or finger? This makes it easier for you to grip the balm container to twist off the top. The balm is located in only one side of the ball and you use the bottom half to apply it to your lips. You need to press really hard though in order to get any on your lips.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The balm is smooth when applied and thin once it is on. I noticed that it takes a lot of rolling over my lips several times in order for it to be applied. It is much different than most balms in that it isn't creamy when it goes on. The balm "ball" is also really hard. When you press it up against your lips, you have to push really hard to apply it or you will not get anything from it. Honestly, it feels like rolling a plastic ball around on your lips. Once it was on my lips it was smooth, almost glossy rather than creamy, like most of my chap-sticks are. I normally use blistex or carmex, so this product was much different for me.

Taste / Aroma

My wife ordered us the summer fruit and the honeysuckle. The honeysuckle you could certainly tell was honeysuckle. The smell and taste on my lips was unmistakeably honeysuckle or comparative to honeydew melon. The summer fruit was a little different for me. You could sense a bit of fruit but there was something else that stuck out more than the fruit. It almost smelled waxy to me. Like a candle maybe? The scent and flavor was decent and not overpowering. It could really stand to be stronger though. When I kiss my wife's lips, I like to taste her gloss or chap-stick. It gives her kisses a sweetness to them that I really enjoy. If the scent and flavor stuck around a little longer, that would be nice too.

Performance

In a nutshell, this product wasn't much of anything to write home about. The scent and flavor didn't last long at all and it was barely noticeable to start with. The balm almost seems too hard to apply, as though its not even there. I didn't notice any sort of reactions to the balm, but my skin never has any of those sensitivity issues. The container was really strange for me too. I didn't like that I couldn't hide it in my pocket (without a rather large bump hanging out the side of my jeans) or that every time I dropped it, it rolled two to three feet away from me. That was rather irritating to have to chase after it. Its a nice concept and something "new and different" but it just wasn't able to be pulled off properly in my opinion. Neither my wife, nor I thought much of this balm and won't be purchasing anymore.

Follow-up commentary
I have to say that after using some of this lip balm, my lips actually broke out. Im not sure why, but there was a bit of redness around my lips and they started to feel a little dry the next day. Im not sure if its from the lip balm or from something else, but I honestly won't be using this product again. I didn't really see any immediate relief and nothing long term, days after I tried them out. The Honeysuckle tastes pretty good, but the summer-fruit had almost no flavor to it, and what I could taste/smell, it wasn't too appealing. It was almost bland.

If you don't like the shape you could always purchase an EOS Lip Balm stick.
