Venus aromatic bath salts - bath salt discontinued by Venus - review by Megan Jean

I suffer from back pain, so I spend a lot of time soaking in a hot bath. I'm always looking for products to make my bathing experience a little more luxurious, so I was very excited when these bath salts arrived at my door.

Upon receiving them, I first noticed that there is a lot of product for what I paid. The jar is about as big as a tub of margarine. I took off the plastic 'tamper proof' ring, and opened it up. First thing I did was shove my nose into the jar, and sniffed. Bad idea, don't recommend doing that. The product smells really funky in the jar, so I was a bit worried that it would smell funky in my tub.

I ran some hot water into a cup, then sprinkled a bit of the salt into it, and swirled it around to dissolve. Thankfully, when dissolved in water, the fragrance is much, much more pleasant. I ordered the green tea scent, and it really did smell like a big cup of green tea, but with a bit of a eucalyptus background.

So, happy with the smell, I headed off to the bathroom and turned on the tub faucet. While the water was running, I sprinkled a few tablespoons under the stream, and they started dissolving immediately. The scent filled the whole bathroom as the tub filled up. I was surprised at how powerful the smell was for the little bit I used; I hardly made a dent in the jar!

I sank into the tub, enjoyed the relaxing smell, and maybe this was just due to my awful pain that afternoon, but the salt seemed to make my muscles relax even more than a regular bath! The scent lasted throughout my whole hour-long bath, and when I got out of the tub, I was lightly fragranced as well.

This is a wonderful product for those of us who love baths. I'm planning on buying some more fragrances soon!
